If people are saying this show is bad they're being hyperbolic. It isn't ending nearly as strong as it started though. I take this on a year by year basis. Just for me personally, this season of Flash is behind this season of Legends, Supergirl, and I think Arrow. But it isn't bad. It has had good moments and I still like the villain.
If I had to point to one specific complaint about this season it's that, weirdly, The Flash writers don't seem to have a concrete idea of what to do with ... The Flash. Barry feels like he's drifting aimlessly sometimes while everyone else has solid stories going on.

The latest episode of the Flash did noting to help people that have issues with this season it was amongst the absoloute worst filler this close to the finale and while the season to me is not as bad as season 3 it still has alot of issues they need to sort out before next season namely with their filler episodes and doing nothing with their side characters...it is exactly why everyone was so happy Wally got the hell away from this show and became infinetly better on legends.
Really hoping this killer frost stuff gets solved in the next 2 episodes and she gets to do a whole lot more otherwise please send her to legends because that character is too good to be wasted doing nothing.

If Arrow and Flash got 18 episode orders for next season I think it would do unreal wonders for them both. CW does a lot of stuff right but their filler episodes REALLY feel like filler.

That is the rumor I have heard atleast for Arrow they get bumped down to 18 episodes next season which wont solve all their problems cougholicitycough it will help out dramatically and they are finally getting new show runners so things might be finally lookin up for Arrow next season. Now to ship the annoying blonde hacker off to never never land so Oliver can have his defining relationship people have wanted out of this show since S3.

If I had to point to one specific complaint about this season it's that, weirdly, The Flash writers don't seem to have a concrete idea of what to do with ... The Flash. Barry feels like he's drifting aimlessly sometimes while everyone else has solid stories going on. I think people complain about the show being so bad because of how far the show has fallen since the first season. Season 1 wasn't must-see peak TV, but it was both solid and consistent. Everything worked, made sense (within the confines of a superhero comic book TV show), and built to something. Barry wasn't dumb because the story required it of him in order to proceed; he was genuinely learning to be a superhero and how to use his powers. He was competent and likeable. Thawne was a compelling protagonist, not just because he posed a challenge to Barry, but that he had goals and motivations of his own that put him into natural conflict with Barry. The supporting characters--Iris, Joe, Cisco, Caitlin, Stein, and Eddie--all had their own issues to deal with, but in ways that served the overall momentum of the season. The moments in the season finale, when Barry decides not to mess with time and instead returns to 2015 to kick Reverse Flash's ass, and when he runs into the singularity, are awesome superhero moments. In my opinion, Season 4 was at least decent up until The Trial of Barry Allen, because we had a villain who wasn't a speedster, and then it nosedived and, with the exception of the Flashtime episode, the show hasn't recovered since. I think Neil Sandilands and Kim Engelbrecht are doing good jobs in terms of their performances, but the writing fails them, as it does the rest of the cast. The show still doesn't know what to do with Iris. I wonder if the show's budget has been cut, maybe to make up for the big crossover episodes, because there really isn't a lot of 'Flash' on 'The Flash'. I hate that Barry reveals his identity to pretty much anyone who shows up at STAR Labs. The show has sidelined Jesse, Jay, and Wally, the latter of which in such a way where it took another TV show to redeem the character and the actor (thank you, Legends). I'm at the point with The Flash like I was with watching Raw in 2015: I'm hating the show and wondering why I'm still bothering to watch. In the case of Raw, I stopped watching and never looked back. If The Flash can't pull victory from the jaws of defeat over the next two weeks, I think I might just stick to Legends of Tomorrow and Black Lighting, and maybe Supergirl (which has also declined as the show drags on). EDIT: And to provide a specific example of how stupid or lazy the writing on this show has become, I'll talk about the ending to last week's episode. Iris decides to write an article about the Thinker, because she's a reporter again, yay, the show's finally doing something with Iris. But, it's not like she's biased against the guy whom her husband was accused of murdering (and for which Barry went to jail). Anyway, at the end of episode, Barry thinks Iris' article is a great idea, because the people of Central City can help the Flash get information about Clifford DeVoe. Except, Barry, you dumbass, the Thinker has KillGore's powers, so DeVoe could create a bunch of egg Twitter accounts and bombard Iris' feed with fake news. And, Barry, you useless clod, the Thinker has Ralph Dibny's powers, and can easily make himself look like, well, anyone who isn't Clifford DeVoe. It was so maddeningly dumb precisely because Barry was making Iris' article out to be a home-run of a plan, when it wasn't.

It is a little funny how things have turned around at the end here specifically between Arrow and Flash.
Arrow was f***ing dreadful for most its season but the last 6 or so episodes has been on fire and this past episode was their best episode of the season easily.
Flash on the other hand started off really damn strong and The Thinker had a reverse flash feel to him which made this season in the first half extremely compelling especially compared to season 3....but just about everything after flashtime sans the Marlese dedicated episode has completely killed what should be an epic finale and maybe they can pick up the pieces in the final 2 episodes because that filler episode was the absoloute f***ing pits easily the worst episode of all the DCTV shows this season.
And like Flash last season proved your finale can be absoloute garbage to so I am not even gonna give Flash that benefit because of last seasons finale they might just f*** this one up to.

The single best scene this entire season absoloutlely insane and amazing Devoe is way more than a one man army....DareDevil gets their hallway fight scene now Flash got theirs.
Come on LU give me one in the wrestling world.
Anyways tonight is Arrows finale cannot wait looks pretty f***ing awesome.
And at the CW upfronts they announced the new line up.
Mondays will now be LEGENDS OF TOMMOROW AND ARROW
Tuesdays will be Flash and Black Lightning
Sunday is where SuperGirl is headed
So for everyone fed up with Raw the rescue has now arrived.

Ooofa Doofa what a finale.....not bad but a huge ton of wasted potential.
This entire finale should have been in the mindscape that is the biggest issue with the finale tonight and how they defeated Devoe was anticlimactic as f***.
I should not be saying it about a finale but the best part was the ending , I really hope they get their shit together for next season because Arrow struggled but have everyone hooked for next season...Flash not really.

Arrow has me the least hooked out of all the shows. Oliver going to prison could be a good story, along with the Long Bow Hunters, but you've also got Diaz returning (he was more like a 2 episode villain than a main villain, they did nothing to build him), Quentin gone (they screwed him over), the Newbies still around (I grew to really dislike them this season), and the continuing adventures of Olicity taking over the show. Arrow desperately needs to be a shorter season, because holy crap, they drag more than any other show. Flash, I'm interested in what Dawn messed up. I'm thinking helping Barry, he was supposed to do it by himself, live and possibly get hurt, but since she joined him, it f***ed something up. Also, we could get a kinder Harry, and that means Cavanaugh would return. However, I'm hoping the main villain for next season is The Rogues. No end of the world they have to avoid, no world domination, they've just got to stop a bunch of criminals. That would make for a fun season.

I did watch episodes here and there including the finale but passed on watching through the whole season. All the while watching the majority of season 3 of the Flash. This year is different for some reason. Watched the majority of season 6 of Arrow but haven’t watched a single episode of season 4 of the Flash.
