Man, you would have never expected Mike Kannelis or Kaitlyn to be dealing with addiction, but I feel extra bad for Kaitlyn because it sounds like the person that was supposed to stand by her was an enabler, at best. Glad she still found a way on the path to good health. Everyone says the new generation of wrestlers are just a bunch of boring video game playing nerds, but that could not be farther from the truth. The new generation is going down the same dark paths those that came before them did. This hits me pretty hard since I am around the same age as half of the WWE roster (32) and I've gone from seeing them be the fresh faced "new kids" a decade ago to many of them facing demons in their lives. But I've seen my own friends and myself go through the same things too. On the bright side, AJ seems to be in a better place than she has ever been. The boozing and street drugs have been cleaned up from the past generation, but the pills are still there and probably even easier to get. People are taught to think that because something can be prescribed it not as bad as the illegal stuff, but often that isn't the case and sometimes it's worse.

Honestly I think more people are on drugs right now than in the past. Maybe little less on steroids and cocaine but I'm not even sure about cocaine since drug use seems to be more normalized in media. But yes prescription pills and opiates like heroin/fentalyn/Oxycontin is ongoing epidemic right now. The difference is nobody is really doing drugs or drinking alcohol because of boredom anymore since there is way more entertainment like video games and being constantly connected to multimedia/social media. But we're still doing it.

Honestly... I'm not that surprised? Something seemed really off after she left wrestling and started posting about 5 selfies a day, with a totally different look than how she looked 6 months beforehand.

Yeah, she definitely seemed a lot more skinnier than when she left wrestling. I'm pretty sure some form of pill lead to that drastic change unfortunately.

Everyone gets skinnier when they leaving wrestling. You get more hours of sleep, eat less shitty road food, less stress, recovering from injuries, more exercise, and less worrying about your appearance of being a bigger than average person aka looking like a jacked pro rassler.

But we're still doing it. I was referring to the wrestling business, although the boredom part was a big point of the cocaine/alcohol use of the 80s. I think more people are doing drugs than ever in regular society. I definitely agree with the prescription pill/opiate epidemic, it's really bad. If anyone wonders why they are so many homeless and so many panhandlers now, there is a good part of your answer. As far as other drugs/alcohol, haven't really seen a decline in too many of those, I would imagine marijuana use has increased and cocaine is probably at the same level. Although it does seem like the younger generation tends to drink less than previous ones.

Weird thing about this as it pertained to Kaitlyn after her WWE run... She seemed to get MORE jacked. Might have been the revealing outfits in her selfies.

I would almost guarantee that there's still quite a few guys doing blow in WWE, I just think guys are more of the "yeah, I'll do a bump if you're offering" now, rather then the 8 ball a night stuff going on in the past. I've seen enough people do cocaine over the past decade that you'd never expect to do coke that I'm not surprised by anyone anymore. Same with the booze, I'm sure it's still prevalent just nowhere near the excesses it was in the past. Guys are unwinding with a 6 pack after a show instead of a 24 or a 40oz of rye

I think part of that was the body image thing - apparently from what I'd heard (here and elsewhere) people in the body buildings and especially nutrition culture have to be very conscious of what shape they're in, and in this selfie age I guess they constantly need to show it for some reason. Of course now that there was another element to it (both her addiction problems as well as her shitty (ex) husband) all along, it makes more unfortunate sense...

Well I suppose spending an extended amount of time on NXT season 3 would get you hooked on drugs.

I always enjoyed her on TV, so hopefully she can both return and successfully keep clean.
I had no idea her last name was Bonin.

I’m sorry to say the drug addiction does not surprise me. She was involved with and married to a guy who has allegations of steroid distribution against him-and those who deal roids often deal in other things as well. Plus she was leading a celebrity lifestyle, and drugs are common in such circles. That said, it is good she is seeking treatment and cleaning herself up. I can see her back in WWE in a Mickey James style role, a more veteran talent to help elevate the newer ones. I ceratainly missed those thighs.

She was my favourite Diva the entire time she was in WWE. It sucked she left, and it sucked when I started noticing she was getting a bit of work done to her face, she never needed it. I'm glad she can start recovering from this. Please come back!

As far as the booze, yeah seems like they are more likely to just drink a few beers after a show, but there is nothing wrong with that.

But yeah with how intense the WWE schedule is how short cocaine stays in your system that if you have two or three days off after the show and get tested back to work, you can likely pass. Through my experiences any job site that requires drug testing often makes people do harder drugs that stay in your system shorter than the softer drugs that stay in your system way longer.

Can't believe her ex would lock her out of her own business. What a dick..
Edit: Looked into it, its still accessible, so she must've taken care of it. Just glad she's okay.

I mean I guess it's possible but it's not like she was particularly great in the ring and I wouldn't be terribly surprised if a lot of people forgot about her as she wasn't around that long. I mean Mickie doesn't get great reactions most weeks.
