She posted this today, I haven't seen it picked up by news sites yet: www.instagram.com/p/BaoSltKgXlh/?taken-by=celestebonin"It's been one year since I checked myself into the hospital for a medical drug detox. (I took this picture in the airport bathroom after flying into LAX.I felt so awful and disgusted with myself but I remember posting it on Instagram with some stupid caption about being happy. I was actually on the last days of the medicine to help me detox and was in a super f***ed up place mentally and physically). Over the past few years I was in a terrible marriage, an addict and not true to myself. It took me so long to admit I had a problem... and then to admit how serious the problem was. I used to pretend to be and to live a certain way for social media. It's everyone's hi-light reel. I remember getting out of the hospital feeling like death, with a medical taper plan of meds and thinking "what have I done to myself?". I celebrated my 30th birthday 5 days later and I remember wanting to die. If you've ever gone through serious drug detox, you know that you basically go through two detoxes. One from the initial drug(s) and then another one from the medicine used to help you detox. A lot of people get hooked on the medicine and remain addicts. For me, I started abusing alcohol to deal with the chemical imbalances, panic attacks and sadness/depression I was experiencing. If you know me, you know I had never done a drug in my life leading up to this (besides smoking weed once or twice and freaking the f*** out.) It's so crazy. You can have the world at your fingertips but end up destroying yourself if you're not careful. I'm fortunate enough to have pulled myself out of it all and was able rebuild my life ...but I can seriously empathize with anyone who is, has been, or has a tendency to be an addict (we're all addicted to something). But it's about self awareness and humility. Never be too proud to ask for help. Be able to wake up and look at yourself in the mirror." With rumors of her return to the WWE I felt it was pertinent to make this thread.

Jesus. It seems like her life in the past few years has been absolutely awful.

Best of luck to her. The battle against drugs is a lifelong struggle, even after going into rehab.

I was legitimately stunned when I read this. I had no idea she was struggling with some demons these last couple of years. Im glad she left PJ after what he did to her business, absolutely no class in that man. Hopefully WWE or someone in that realm helped her out while all of this was going on (My money's on AJ). Im just glad she's doing 10X better now than last year.

Jesus. It seems like her life in the past few years has been absolutely awful. Her ex-husband deals in dubiously "legal" oral steroids and is an all around weird guy. In any of the videos you can see with them on youtube where they are talking about subjects she should be the expert in (such as the video about breast implants) he still talks over her. I always got a bad vibe from him.

Then reading this casts a whole new light on her situation. But I have read that people who are obsessed with appearing happy in social media (and she posts relentlessly) are often battling depression and anxiety. What was the source of her addiction to begin with? I am assuming it was medically prescribed narcotics, but I don't recall her having any serious injury while wrestling. Maybe a training accident?

I think she may have had to sue him for the rights to the name Celestial Bodiez (her brand of clothing she sells).

I believe when they broke up,PJ basically locked some merch that was supposed to be shipped in their garage or something along those lines. Edit: Wow I was completely wrong lmao. Still, he locked her out of something.

I assume it has to deal with some form of injury and then that caused an addiction. Whatever the case may be, I assume that's why she's been so close to the WWE again. Maybe they privately helped her out?

I'm rooting for her. I am also curious who has custody of the knight, but yeah.

Man, you would have never expected Mike Kannelis or Kaitlyn to be dealing with addiction, but I feel extra bad for Kaitlyn because it sounds like the person that was supposed to stand by her was an enabler, at best. Glad she still found a way on the path to good health.

Glad she still found a way on the path to good health. Everyone says the new generation of wrestlers are just a bunch of boring video game playing nerds, but that could not be farther from the truth. The new generation is going down the same dark paths those that came before them did. This hits me pretty hard since I am around the same age as half of the WWE roster (32) and I've gone from seeing them be the fresh faced "new kids" a decade ago to many of them facing demons in their lives. But I've seen my own friends and myself go through the same things too. On the bright side, AJ seems to be in a better place than she has ever been.
