As the title says. I think I expect this one to be fairly even!

Michael - gave me the Charlie Sheen vibe from Two and a half men.
Trevor was batshit crazy but not my cup of tea.
Franklin - so generic I couldn't recall his name until this thread.

Michael felt like a fully fleshed out and relatable character, Franklin felt half-developed and forgettable, and Trevor was a deeply unlikeable cartoon character.
Michael it is.

Hated the way they introduced Trevor by killing off Johnny from the Lost and the Damned.

Honestly none of them.
Michael is basically BoJack Horseman with a family and will double cross anybody just to protect his ass.
Trevor is Trevor, but he's actually the most loyal of the bunch with how constantly consumed he is with busting out Brad throughout the game.
Franklin is somewhat redeemable depending on the player's choices near the end of the game but he still turns a cold shoulder to the friends he had before becoming friends with Michael. It's telling that he's usually just doing shit at his house whenever you switch to him in the post game and that his love interest Denise ends up getting married with Franklin not even lifting a finger to try and win her back.
As far as my favorite character on a non-likeability scale (on the basis of how entertaining they are to play as and how they are in the story), it's probably Trevor just because of his VA's performance throughout the game. He's just perfect at capturing the role.

Michael had the best arc and was the most relatable to me.
Trevor was the most complex character.
Franklin felt like he was suppose to be an every man character. Got lost in the shuffle.

Franklin was too similar to CJ.

Franklin was just a retread of CJ from San Andreas, I thought. Michael was the most layered character, but I liked how Trevor was articulate and eloquent but could flip from calm to rage in the same sentence.

Franklin felt like he was suppose to be an every man character. Got lost in the shuffle. A problem I had with the story was that only Michael's story seemed to have a lot of depth to it. Franklin's main arc in particular has barely any development in the game. I mean, we saw Stretch once before the final mission. That's pretty bad.

Trevor had the best performance, despite the character being a purposeful, and accurate, caricature of some of their fan base. Franklin' had a good story arc, but damn he was not filled enough as a character. Nice guy gansta wasn't enough and the performance didn't fill the gaps.
So the answers Michael. He's a complex, albeit stereotypical character, but his narrative life him above that. By the end he's grown the most and, depending on your ending, iits conclusion results in either the ultimate growth or failure for him. He has death and ironic betrayal, philosophical and moral failure or ultimate success. Trevor's arc isn't as satisfying, so Michaels just works. Which is why virtually no one kills him.

Trevor by far. Surprisingly complex, loyal, hilarious. I loved all three though, created a neat atmosphere where your gameplay style is reflected by who you are at the time. If you feel like going on a bender killing random folks play Trevor. Feel like having a suave time in nice cars, play Micheal. Want to play a balanced style Franklin is your guy. Obviously I tended to go a bit extreme lol.

I didn't like Trevor at first but by the end I loved the guy. Plus Steven Ogg being on the Walking Dead now has added another layer for me.
Michael was good but was a bit of a putz.
Franklin was that other guy.

Michael. Franklin just felt like he was the third wheel and I'm not of fan of Trevor. I get what they were trying with Trevor but it just felt so forced to me.

Definitely Michael. Trevor can definitely be amusing but he doesn't entirely work for me and Franklin's just kind of bland.

Michael. Trevor was fun but, not the most compelling of characters.
Franklin is the epitome of a character that's "just there." Not offensivley bad or anything but, if he'd been cut out of the game entirely, you wouldn't have missed much.

Franklin's main arc in particular has barely any development in the game. I mean, we saw Stretch once before the final mission. That's pretty bad.I remember touching on this on a thread on GTA Forums in the past. It would have been better for Franklin to have been more fleshed out and there should have been more to Stretch being an antagonist to him, rather than Tanisha tell him that Stretch set up Lamar. Also, I think that there should have been more story missions. GTA IV had up to 100 missions overall (I believe). GTA V had roughly 60. There should have been more story to be told. Anyway, back to the topic at hand, I felt like I could relate to Michael, though I wouldn't betray anybody like he did.
