The Jericho that we're getting in New Japan is so much better than plucky comedy heel in WWE. I love what he's been doing so far. Reminds me of when he tried to run murder.exe on HBK in 2008

There's nothing wrong with List Jericho, but I really like how old school he's approaching this Omega program. The setup is really simple, and that makes it more intense. Don Callis took a good bump.

At a press conference that was held today, Omega attacked Jericho It was awesome. They shot it totally naturally, and it looked more realistic.

Fake Guess: Actual Guess: The Japanese are thinking this is Taguchi in a mask, as the New Japan site notes the mystery man has a distinct connection to all of his tag partners.

I love that Omega called his spot during his part of the press conference. He said Jericho is unpredictable so he's going to have to basically do the same. 2 mins later he attacks Jericho in a backstage brawl that felt more authentic and interesting than anything wwe has done in ages.

Looks like LIJ will drop the NEVER trios belts. This masked horse thing seems pretty silly. No Kenny/Scurll/Young Bucks/Cody, the thing I will be most interested in is the Young Lion Cup.

Bit surprised Jay White hasn't done anything or isn't on the shows to buildup the IC match. Think he'd face Finlay or Nagata so he'll reconnect with the audience.

The "Masked Horse" thing could have worked if there was also a "Masked Ox", because then at least you'd have the Gozu/Mezu mythology thing going.

I'm honestly fine with Suzuki/Goto, but I also really like both guys. That said, I'd prefer Goto/Ishii in the tag ranks right now and a fresh challenger to potentially dethrone Suzuki; Goto just winning the belt back would make Suzuki's half year reign feel pointless, unless they actually have a bigger plan this time for a Goto NEVER run - his run early in 2017 was nice for revolving around featuring some newer/younger guys, which was kind of the old NEVER belt mission statement, but he spent so much of it selling for his opponents that it took a good chunk of his tough guy cred away. Unless Goto doesn't win and losing his hair leads to a gimmick refresh? ...Come to think of it, bald Goto and bald Ishii in the tag ranks, huh.
I'm glad the undercard is a bit wonky right now, though; gives something to look forward to on the Road To shows, to see how some of those spots shake out.

I'll amend my previous post: a bald Goto/bald Ishii team would be great, but someone on the NJPW Reddit page suggested that Goto should face Suzuki and shave his head if he loses, while Ishii should challenge Zach Sabre Jr. and promise to grow his hair out if he loses.
This now means bald Goto and poorly-grown head of hair Ishii is a canon team in my head, and oh my God I really, really hope they book Ishii vs. Sabre for the RevPro belt in the Dome because good Lord was that match fun in Long Beach last summer.

Ishii needs something at Wrestle Kingdom and I would be pretty happy with that match. They had a pretty good match in the G1 and both have had a great year as a whole, although of course Ishii being better as one of the best in the world.

Is Taguchi Japan even still a thing? Ricochet has disappeared and Kushida, Juice and Tanahashi are all doing their own thing and teaming with new people.
Finished the World Tag league today and asked my GF which match she was most excited about at WK12, after the press conference she said Omega/Jericho but for me I am still most pumped for Okada/Naito, what about you guys? What do you think will be the sleeper match of the night?

What do you think will be the sleeper match of the night? Honestly, I'm excited for both right now. The backstory for Okada/Naito is the kind of story you wish was in modern wrestling more and Omega/Jericho, for a few weeks build has managed to make things a hell of a lot interesting. In terms of sleepers, I feel like White/Tanahashi is going to surprise people. It might be an unusual build but there must be a reason they have him against one of their best so I think it'll, at least, be a tonne of fun.
