Rights to A New Hope (and the likely possibility of a HQ edition of the original trilogy) are probably on the table as well.

Is this even legal at this point lol? Yes I know it is and it's a rhetorical question. But at this rate I expect Disney will soon acquire Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon, Apple, FAN, WWE, Bubsy, etc.

That...isn’t what I expected to read but at least it “solves” a few problems on Disney’s end.
That’s if this passes any sort of corporate Monopoly law which...I don’t think it does.

I'm... I'm just not ok with this. I like having a good number of movie studios.
I don't want to see Disney with a WWE style stranglehold on Movies and Entertainment in general.

They might have a monopoly on sports networks if this happens. Even though FS1 and FS2 are jokes, Fox Sports owns or has major stakes in a ton of regional networks.

The article says Fox News, Business, Sports and the Fox Network aren't part of the deal due to monopoly issues. Disney also wouldn't be acquiring any of the Fox owned local affiliates either

Disney would own two of the Big 4 networks, the entire movie studio, the various cable networks, and various IPs like The Simpsons, Family Guy, Empire, Lucifer, AHS, and more...
Sorry, but I hate having limited selections of merchandise, let alone what I watch.

I mean, that's one way to get the rights to A New Hope and the X-Men.

Geez, I hope this doesn't go through - for a lot of reasons. The last thing the movie industry needs is FEWER large studios making movies, especially under the monolithic Disney.

I wonder if this is more of a bid to get those "smaller" things like Star Wars and the Marvel Fox movies, and other aspects of Fox that Disney already doesn't have its foot in the door of, moreso than actually buying the entire g-dang company.
They can't possibly buy the FOX TV networks, which as stated above is indeed off the table. They already have ABC and ESPN and other networks, so that would get shot down by monopoly laws easily.
Start big, which apparently was "EVERYTHING," and work their way down to what they really want and maybe a little more....

Sorry, but I hate having limited selections of merchandise, let alone what I watch. Read the post before yours, the stations are not for sale. This seems to mostly be the film studio side. Disney's lawyers aren't stupid they'd know they'd get popped for Monopoly if they included the networks (As well as Fox probably not being as willing to sell them)

Gross. Just f***ing gross.
Corporate monster swallowing up everything and all people can talk about is how they're excited that an X-man could maybe hug an Avenger.
