To think in the past WWE was probably looking for getting the next Macho Man or the next Rock. Now their goal is pursuing the latest vanilla workrate indy darling. Who in that company wants this? Not everybody signed to NXT are going to be the next Rock or Savage. If there's a card in any promotion, it needs main eventers but it also needs a mid card and openers. Seriously, not everyone is hired to be the next Rock. You need openers, Midcard and tag guys too. You'll notice most people here didn't say he should become the main event world champion (in fact a few even laughed at the idea). Most are saying stick him with Roddy and reunite the Dojo Bros.

The one silver lining to this is that seemingly even WWE knows that Davey Richards was a f***wit who cost both of them their shots in the past, and that Eddie by himself and without some idiot dragging him away may not be a terrible investment. I felt bad for Eddie with that. Davey totally screwed Eddie over by being Davey. Especially since from all reports Davey didn't want to go to the WWE and Eddie had to beg him to do it. Yeah, shackling himself to Davey cost Eddie a lot there, and didn't seem to realize or care that Davey was poison and the main reason the Wolves ended up burning their bridges every which way with damn near everyone who booked them. Nice to see them give Eddie a second chance as the victim of the shittiness.

How much do you want to bet that his theme is a knock-off of I'm Shipping Up To Boston

How much do you want to bet that his theme is a knock-off of I'm Shipping Up To Boston Isn't that O'Reilly's theme he used before he signed with WWE?

Can't pretend I'm a huge fan of the guy, but nice to see him get a shot and that Davey's shit didn't taint his.

Are they interested in EC3?
Because that's someone that should get a look.

If they jump straight to, "OH MY GOD THAT'S EDDIE EDWARDS!" and then him immediately vaulting to being NXT's top face and champion, I think NXT can be considered to have jumped the shark.

I like how WWE are reported to be interested in pretty much the only guy who's not reported to be leaving soon.

All jokes aside Eddie Edwards has been kicking was this past year. His NOAH title reign has been stellar and WWE getting him would be excellent

Good. I've always wanted to see what developmental could do with Eddie, free of Davey douching things up.

We couldn’t commit to going down there and going into their system. I can’t go down there and train 5 days a week at NXT because I’m in school, I’m in medical school full-time. It is very important for me to get my doctorate and I’m also a full time firefighter/paramedic and that’s something that’s very near and dear to me to. For me, I operate best just in life just to being having Davey time, wrestling time, and then coming home and having Wes time. I love wrestling, I also love saving people’s lives and helping and medicine and things like that. So I don’t love one more thing than another so for me it’s just doesn’t work out for me to go 100% into wrestling and that’s just my personal thing. They were very kind to us. They were very generous. They were very fair and nothing to absolutely have to say to them. They were absolutely great people. They are obviously doing great so were all very happy for them. It’s just didn’t work for me personally. Pursuing my doctorate is kicking my butt, so I have a full time job and I wrestle full time and I go to school full time so for me to give up all of that just to go to NXT wouldn’t work out. I have to concentrate on that. They had some names and I said well could I be something Billington because well Tommy Billington is The Dynamite Kid, my number one inspiration in wrestling. They were cool with it and it was all good. Signing with TNA: We were talking to TNA pretty much the whole time and I really wanted to go to TNA from the start and Eddie really wanted to give NXT a chance and check it out and I can understand. So we went down and TNA was really cool about it. They totally understood. We go and do our thing with NXT and TNA came to us with the deals and said hey we’ve got something for you and can get you guys started right away on TV. As soon as we cleared up things with NXT we told them we weren’t going to go any further and they said they weren’t willing to go any further and we had a contract with TNA within 5 minutes. www.mandatory.com/wrestlezone/news/590097-davey-richards-revelas-details-about-his-wwe-tryout-talks-signing-with-tna-winning-the-roh-tag-titles-moreDavey's explanation of what happened with the tryouts.

Not only that but like it or not you also need solid hands to make the main eveners look good. Of the examples given obviously Macho was very good in the ring, but the Rock isn’t likely to make many best in ring lists. He’s alright, but he’s much better when he’s in there with a top notch worker. I think Eddie’s pretty lame overall, but he’s pretty good in the ring.
