For the love of God Tanahashi, take until at least the G1 off now. Yes pls. The dude really, really needs it, and the promotion is in a perfect position to be fine without him for awhile.

So now can we get the epic manly match of all time between Suzuki and Ishii? That would rule beyond anything ever conceived.

So do we think that we just saw Tanahashi written out for a few months? He dropped the title and did a stretcher job. And Suzuki straight up murderized his knee.

Note: For anyone who wants to see Taka-TaichiMania, I believe it won't get on NJPW World until it's had a chance to air on TV in Japan, which should be at the end of the month.
New Beginning is always such a fun show, thrilled we're getting back to back this weekend then the capstone in February.
-Kitamura looking great, curious where he goes after the challenge series. Thought the word was he was interested in doing an excursion in ROH, but as mentioned in other threads the fact that he's already 31 or whatever means they may want him around the home promotion sooner than later.
-Owens and Yujiro had a couple slip ups as a team, but I have to say that during 2017 it looked like both guys really came to embrace their roles in Bullet Club and on the roster in general. No, neither guy is ticketed for the upper card, but I felt over the course of the past year that they really slid into their roles and started doing things with more purpose. They're both just seemingly really comfortable in that lower midcard heel level right now, and it's done a lot to up my enjoyment when they're on. Consider them my winners of a "MIdcard Most Improved Award 2017".
-Cody/Ibushi still going? Interesting.
-Tonga Boys 4 Life. Happy to see Henare get a featured spot, too; I'm sure he'll be low on the totem pole for awhile, but the guy's got a world of potential.
-Would really like to see David Finlay get a new direction in 2018; he's not the biggest/most built guy, but he's got cardio to spare, strikes well, and moves around the ring with purpose. If Sami isn't back any time soon could we get him and Juice a nice tag run? At the very least he should probably switch up his gear in some way, shape, or form.
-Appreciated White not at all gelling with RP3K. I said after New Years Dash that I had kind of hoped he'd join Bullet Club because BC could really use another full-time "lieutenant" full time in Japan to go along with Fale, but him being in CHAOS and sticking out like a sore thumb likely means they have something big planned for him and potentially the greater landscape of stables in NJPW, and I'm glad that I can't really figure out what it'll end up being.
-Naito's story here with YOSHI is a nice one; YOSHI brawling with him, then Naito responding by just brushing past him? Magnificent. YOSHI's strikes were landing with more authority, but Naito refuses to accept him as a worthy opponent. We'll see next week how that pans out.
-Speaking of which, oh my God did I love seeing LIJ back in full heel mode. They were still great last year, but I was afraid of them moving too closely to Poochie territory, and playing off that Naito only lost at the Dome because he got caught up in the moment and played to the crowd after Destino means he's got a great reason to get back to what made him so Ingobernable in the first place.
-Really interested in Okada not only attacking SANADA (who looked great in his new gear, btw), but even going full Ted DiBiase with the Okada dollars. "You don't wanna talk to the champ, huh? Fine, eat these." Had a feeling Okada would start to heel out a bit to play up that he's getting arrogant this deep into his reign, but that was something else; playing up that Okada wants to get SANADA to show some emotion? The aforementioned arrogance? Maybe something else entirely? Again, we'll know more shortly.
-Finally, Minoru committing manslaughter was quite the spectacle. Thank God Tana gets a break now; if he returns and gets in Suzuki's face at, say, Dominion, Osaka-Jo will pop big for him. Suzuki winning his first singles IWGP title is a big deal, and it's kind of interesting to see him immediately step up from the NEVER strap, but he was well situated to get in there and give them an excuse to write Tana out. Also: notice that between this and the Goto match at the Dome there's a whole lot less Suzuki-Gun interference? Again, interesting.
Can't wait for tomorrow, but will have an awful time dodging spoilers when I'm at work in the morning, then dodging them for the main event matches when I get back to work in the late afternoon.

BULLSHIT!! That's just a ruse! As for the match, Suzuki is a murderous dick. Those Heel locks were something else. Also they mentioned that he's also a British Tag Champ. Looking up the team they beat, it's safe to assume Tyler Bate is dead.

If you haven't seen Suzuki/Tanahashi, you're doing yourself a great disservice. MOTY so far for me.

Ishii and Yano's dynamic is the most perfect odd couple tag team in Japan and I can't get enough of it.

Finally up and we're half way through Omega-White. Missed the show yesterday, looking forward to going back for Tanahashi-Suzuki.

That ending was actually super emotional. Where do we're go from here? I love that I can ask that question in a positive way.

Despite my sarcasm going “just kiss already”, that was really well done. And, it opens up so many avenues. What is going to happen to Bullet Club?? What is going to happen to The Elite?? Has Cody just taken over Bullet Club or has he now splintered everything so BC is The Tongan clan?? What about Jay White’s win?? So many questions!!

Golden Lovers. Man, this is intense. Sure hope The Elite stick together. Cody as the leader of the Bullet Club... I don't know how to feel about this. Crazy this is happening weeks before the NJPW tour in Australia.
