So this is an OSW reference but who are your boys?
A BOY is a (generally not very talented) wrestler that didn’t achieve success, where there’s a bit of cringe factor admitting he was one of your favourites. You like/support him more than the average & what he deserved. Like my boy Test, or Heidenreich. He can’t have won a major world title as well (which actually cuts out Garvin, even though the rest of his career was very boy-worthy). The term ‘boy’ is also used in Japanese Dojos (for young trainees) and in general vernacular too (e.g. Will Ferrell’s boy Blue in the film Old School).
CRITERIA FOR BEING A BOY: 1. Unsuccessful – No WWE/WWF, WCW/NWA or NJPW world titles. This rules out Christian, Steve! 2. Unpopular – He must not be respected in general or have hope for the future. Think The Ascension. 3. Untalented – There’s a certain cringe factor. You have to be a little ashamed to admit you’re a fan. Heidenreich is the Golden boy, a paragon of Boyness.
I will admit that Test is my boy. He was honestly a pretty bad worker outside of his big boot and he was never successful or a super popular midcarder outside of 99. Even then I always loved him and I would always give my CAWs his running big boot.

Mabel - No idea why, but just had that larger than life thing for me. Looked like no one else ever and sometimes that's what wrestling is all about.
Rikishi - You could perhaps argue the toss on the untalented thing, because he is one of the most underrated big men ever but I just loved everything he did.
Abdullah the Butcher - Controversy aside, I just love Butcher matches. Came across as someone you should legitimately fear and wrestled just about everywhere.
Maybe I just like fat wrestlers.

The Model Rick Martel The Fabulous Rougeaus Pierre Ouellet Hakushi Now THAT is a Survivor Series team. Are they all "boys," though? That's a lot of talent there. Tiger Ali Singh is my boy. Luscious Johnny V is my boy. Papa Shango is my boy. The Mean Street Posse are my boys.

I'd say so apart from maybe Martel. a 4th string 80s tag team and a couple of New Generation midcarders, one of whom was a pirate.

Back when WCW was around, Ice Train and Ernest Miller were my boys.
Today’s WWE is a bit harder. Even the unsuccessful and/or untalented guys seem to have their fanbases, ironic or otherwise.

Crash Holly (and given how many titles he won between the Hardcore rule and actually having reigns with three other belts, may be the most successful wrestler who's undisputedly a Boy.)

I keep wanting WWE to hire Delilah Doom because she's a Texan indie wrestler, her job matches she did for them were good, and I like her style and think it'd stand out.
But it's still someone who has had two jobber matches, under different names, so it's a bit silly to keep having them pop up in my head as someone I'd like to see hired.

Maybe these don't count because they had more talent than the majority of the others listed but I liked them...
Gran Naniwa. Always love seeing him in a match, never seems to get a win.
When I first started getting the WWF (mid-80's), there was a guy named "Quickdraw" Rick McGraw. He'd show up in jobber matches against heels, but would have an occasional win against other jobbers. Even had a tag match with Andre. I remember seeing the infamous match with Piper, and then a couple of months later reading about his death.

Toru Yano, Robbie E, Taichi, Rick Martel if you don't count his AWA push (mostly "The Model"), Alex Wright, Alicia Fox and The Mountie.
