And then the Womens Revolution came not long after? AJ was in pure "give no f***s" mode then. She was all mentally checked out.

You can almost taste the cynicism and disdain behind "I appreciate your opinion".

You can almost taste the cynicism and disdain behind "I appreciate your opinion". I'd like to think after sending that tweet to AJ, Steph went down into her and HHH's home gym and started hitting the bag, pretending it was AJ while screaming "YOU WANT A PIECE OF ME, AJ? WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?"

I seriously want at Wrestlemania 35:
CM Punk and AJ Lee vs. Triple H and Stephanie.

the Women's revolution was already in full swing on NXT.
Which is what actually started this.
edit: also the "givedivasachance" hashtag happened a day before AJ's response

*Stephanie adds up how much screentime she has given herself and checks her own bank account and wonders what in world AJ could ever be talking about*

AJ's point was a load of shit though cuz AJ was really the only one who had any real success comparable to the men in terms of merch and whatnot. No one was buying Kaitlyn shirts.

AJ also didn't exactly put over anyone on her way out the door. Talking up some NXT women in a Slammy speech doesn't cut it.

They once based a WWE Title feud over who AJ had the hots for, and she beat the entire women's roster in a title match at Wrestlemania. They may have been ignoring the women's roster but AJ got a super-push that would make Roman nod in respect.

Normally women don't get the rocket strapped to them like that. Was there ever any reason why given? Did Vince like her?

There was a lot of talk from a lot of different people that Vince was initially taken by AJ after the Daniel Bryan angle, he saw her in the same light he saw Miss Elizabeth apparently and wanted to make her just as featured & as endeared as Elizabeth was. Hence the world title feud and GM stint that followed, he allegedly didn't start souring on her till Punk and her started to become a thing backstage according to a few different people. Which wouldn't be the first time Vince liked a female talent only for them to end up with somebody and him get cold feet on pushing them or featuring them as strongly as he had in the past.

We narrowly avoided CM Punk cutting a promo on AJ Lee while holding a dead fish.

Glad we avoided seeing a woman being pushed and put on TV despite not being very good at her job; and also not seeing Stephanie in a match with her would have been the pits.

Lets get rid of the revisionist history, AJ Lee started the Women's Revolution.

Which is what actually started this. edit: also the "givedivasachance" hashtag happened a day before AJ's response But, AJ's tweet about how the women were being treated and the publicity and attention it garnered from other news outlets were also key. At that point, WWE couldn't just ignore it and hope that things would die down eventually as they've done in the past. WWE had to do something to save face. AJ's tweet and the attention it garnered, the poor treatment of the main roster women, the rise of the NXT girls, it was all a "perfect storm".

Lets get rid of the revisionist history, AJ Lee started the Women's Revolution. AJ started all revolutions. In fact, I think we should create a hashtag for it. I can't think of one though.

AJ's point was a load of shit though cuz AJ was really the only one who had any real success comparable to the men in terms of merch and whatnot. No one was buying Kaitlyn shirts. At that time, AJ, Paige & the Bellas were all pretty big merch movers for the women. As for the ratings thing, I'd guess that she was referring to her angle with Bryan/Punk and the WWE championship picture and Brie Bella and her angle with Stephanie McMahon. Although AJ using the Bellas as an example to support her argument is kinda funny considering the frosty relationship they had with one another.

AJ's point was a load of shit though cuz AJ was really the only one who had any real success comparable to the men in terms of merch and whatnot. No one was buying Kaitlyn shirts. AJ's point was incredibly valid. The fans were sick of women not being given chance and just being reduced to a side attraction for over fifteen years and they wanted more. Steph then tried to get in on the movement despite the fact that as a member of creative and heir to the company she was one of the people who wasn't giving women wrestlers a chance. AJ was highlighting Steph's complete hypocrisy.
