That was the greatest burn I've ever read in my life. In a paragraph Corgan's existence is destroyed. The Smashing Pumpkins were famous more than twenty years ago but that's it the years were not kind to Corgan. I don't know what I hate the most about him. His association with Alex Jones. His involvement in wrestling and how he constantly gets taken advantage off. The photo in the article is just beyond pathetic. He looks like a Billy Corgan impersonator, Corgan looks like shit. He should've done a twin magic gimmick with Borash, they're both ugly on the outside and inside.

Shame, because jokes aside, the Pumpkins (especially the original line up) are still a killer live show. I know if they play the UK I’ll be there. Well you'll have the arena all to yourself.

I'm a huge Smashing Pumpkins fan and intend to take in show during their 3/4's reunion tour, but booking an arena tour twenty years post-being a relevant mainstream act was a bit silly and proof that Corgan doesn't fully recognize the bands audience. I get booking arenas in New York, Los Angeles and their hometown of Chicago, but buy to do it country wide with potential of playing to half-filled venues is rather embarassing.

I saw them at lollapalooza 94 and they were terrible. Sounded awful. Billy insulted Bob Seger for the Ford commercials (This was in detroit). The crowd almost booed them offstage.

Not surprising. How many grunge-era bands are still selling out? The only thing that works after being out of fashion for decades are very old rock acts and Madonna.

Pumpkins at their peak were huge. Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness is one of the best rock albums of the 1990's. But in 2018, the number of people who still want to see them live has to be minuscule at best especially with the prices they're charging.

Good thing their management probably conned whoever is promoting this tour into a huge guarantee, hence the ridiculous ticket prices and people not buying them. The whole thing with D’Arcy is scummy and she hit the nail on the head when she pointed out that he lost a ton of money in wrestling and this is his payday.

Well, you're promoting a reunion and you couldn't get any of the 3 bassists you've had, so it's gonna fall apart.
You couldn't even get Ginger Pooley.

If a tree falls down and no one hears it does it sells more tickets than Billy Corgan.

Smashing Pumpkins are one of those bands thats cool at the time, but doesn't hold up anymore. Nine Inch Nails, Guns N Roses, Pearl Jam etc all still seem "cool" by todays standards. But there's some weird element about the Pumpkins that causes me to not care.

The other bands have cool personas and an edge for want of a better phrase. Even when producing great music Corgan came off like whiny nerd. Now I'm a whiny nerd too, but I'm not trying get to persuade people to remortgage their house to come see me play music from 20 years ago.

Yeah and even Corgan's fans from back then are in their forties with teenage kids. I can't see them leaving everything and going to watch him lol.

Pearl Jam is the only one of the "big four" grunge acts whose singer didn't OD or kill themselves, and they still tour regularly, and by the looks of their shows they're playing stadiums, festivals, and places like Wrigley Field that seat 40,000. That shit still sells, and so do reunion tours, but he's charging for The Smashing Pumpkins what it would take a reunion like Zeppelin or original line-up Guns & Roses to get people in the door for.

That said i havent been interested in anytjing Billy has done musically since the late 90s. Mind, I'm also of the belief that GnR made exactly one good album and have been coasting on good will ever since.
