How’s the Beast from the East affecting you? (it’s impossible for me to hear that name and not think of Bam Bam Bigelow) It’s not too bad here but predictably, a lot of things have ground to a halt before the bad weather really hits. Hope all you people in the areas with red weather warnings are staying safe.

Borderline lethal.
My phone gives me effective temps with wind factored in, it's -17 C here. Work just told us to stay at home for the rest of the week, and I'm currently wearing all my clothes in bed.

Freezing, especially the wind. The snow is unusually powdery so seeing it get blown around like you see on wildlife documentaries is surreal.
Strangely I got home from work quicker than many normal days.

I manage a service desk for a water company. Most people have been stood down for the week, but, obviously, there's a lot of guys out in the field fixing pipes and digging holes and all that good stuff that you need even more when it's freezing, and we have to support them. So my team's had the run of the office yesterday, today, and again tomorrow. It's a ballache getting in but at least work's relaxed and fun.

It's pretty damn bad here in Newcastle. Most of our dual carridge ways have been shut down at one point or another over the past few days. Wind chill factor makes it feel about -10c, so going out is hell. I haven't been across the doors for most of it though as I've been off work with a really nasty chest infection, and the doctor told me to stay out of the cold. Saying that I'm a postman, it was a wise decision.

cold, windy, i'd say about 2 inches of snow at the moment that's more or less ice. luckily while it's snowed for the last 24 hours the wind has kept most of it from sticking on cleared patches.
hasn't been above 0oC for 48 hours but the wind has made it feel as low as -120C

Cold, but it's snowing in north Manchester and not south Manchester, so no snow day for me, while other teacher mates have had today off.

How’s the Beast from the East affecting you? (it’s impossible for me to hear that name and not think of Bam Bam Bigelow). So happy to hear it's not just me doing that! Glasgow, yesterday: 10 hour blizzard. A full on snow storm where you couldn't see the other side of the street here, just whiteness. Never seen anything like that. Today: Snow toddler waist deep down the end of the road, wind violent. Another blizzard around tea-time, worse than yesterday, but it wore out faster and then got attacked by a normal storm with rain. Now it's just normal violent wind storm, but the snow is still holding firm, and the schools are off for a third straight day tomorrow. (For the record, I can't recall the schools being off due to weather here in my lifetime, so practically the whole week is uncharted territory...) Mostly been hiding indoors like a sensible person! And phoning Mum every day to make sure she's not gone to work like a fool. (Mum is 58 soon, needs a walking stick due to arthritis and has a large martyrdom streak, so the idea of her walking 8 miles through a blizzard to a closed uni is actually a legit concern!)

Tavistock is down a valley, in the lee of Dartmoor. Our yearly snowfall is usually about five minutes of flakes once a year.
It's not exactly blizzards here, but the wind's up to 50mph and it's been a few hours icy flakes in the morning then solid since the afternoon. Snow's about an inch or two thick in some places.
When we're getting that, just goes to show how much everything else is getting. Plymouth, just 16 miles away and not in a valley, is getting lagged with snow.

Some of my friends are stranded between Manchester and leeds because the M62 is shut and there's a tree on the train line.

The past two days I've been sent home early from work because of the snow. So I'm not complaining about this weather! Actually the worst part has been all the sporting events getting cancelled. Even the Darts got cancelled due to the snow tonight.

It's the complete opposite of boiling Hot down here in Kent. Driving to work has been fun needless to say The one annoyance was we were suppose to meet in London for me Dad's 60th.. However as all Trains are buggered and what not it had to be cancelled. But yeah, In a weird way I have enjoyed it.

Where I am, to a semi quiet town, there’s no difference between the path and the road. The town was a ghost town when I walked in earlier with the misses. Bad thing though, my sink/drain pipes are frozen I believe. They won’t drain despite me pouring boiling water down.
Plus side though, had a small snowball fight, and I got the other half to do her first snow angel.

https://instagram.com/p/BfzH5OOgzSF About five inches of snow where it's not been trampled down. It's played havoc with the hotel I work at, with a couple of dozen guests not arriving and half of those taking exception at not being able to get a refund (they booked on a non-refundable rate) and refusing to sanction the release of their rooms so people who need them can book them.

Really close friend of mine is in Scotland right now under a ton of snow with a looooooot more on the way tomorrow. Her internet is down, and the boiler in her apartment is acting up.
