No. Wrestlemania is a spectacle in every sense of the word.

Isn't it always?
The card, the build, the stories being told. Culmination of those things.
Mania is a names in a hat showcase of stage construction and set design.

And if so why? And if not why not? Yes because I can see the 5 matches I want to see in a 2-3 hour window instead of a 7 hour window.

I've never felt a Takeover even came close to overtaking a Mania. Even a bad Mania. Wrestlemania is more than wrestling.
Mania Takeover isn't bad. I watch them. I just happen to enjoy the "absurdity and spectacle" of wrestling more than a "36 star match in the Tokyo Dome".

Guys, Takeover Dallas was so much better than Mania 32. So it is possible.

I'm sure either way we'll get about 10 million tweets and posts about it immediately after Takeover ends.
I'll be honest though. I don't remember a single thing from Mania Takeover last year.

I think all around, probably. It's a two and a half hour show with easily contained storyline versus Wrestlemania's seven hours of "WE GOTTA FIT EVERYONE IN" and a few filler segments as well. I may like one or two Wrestlemania matches more than I may the Takeover card, but all in all, it'll be the better show.

I don't remember a single thing from Mania Takeover last year. 1 Sanity (Alexander Wolfe, Eric Young, Killian Dain, and Nikki Cross) defeated Kassius Ohno1, Roderick Strong, Ruby Riot, and Tye Dillinger Eight-person mixed tag team match[12] 12:23 2 Aleister Black defeated Andrade "Cien" Almas Singles match[13] 09:35 3 The Authors of Pain (Rezar and Akam) (c) (with Paul Ellering) defeated DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa) and The Revival (Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson) Triple threat elimination match for the NXT Tag Team Championship[14] 23:50 4 Asuka (c) defeated Ember Moon Singles match for the NXT Women's Championship[15] 12:10 5 Bobby Roode (c) defeated Shinsuke Nakamura Singles match for the NXT Championship[16] 28:20 Really a one match show for me. The AoP/DIY/Revival match was fantastic. The rest was all good but not as memorable. I never really got into the Roode/Nakamura matches.

Maybe but Mania will get the edge always
Mania is a spectacle and while I will enjoy Takeover for what it is and probably have parts that will be better than Mania, I look forward to Mania every year and this card this year in particular is stacked

NXT generally have scheduled their Wrestlemania style show in Brooklyn and not the one before mania, which kinda makes sense... of course next year Takeover Brooklyn is the night before Mania so not sure if they'll stick to that.

Right. The Mania weekend show is like their Summerslam while Summerslam weekend is their Mania show I assume that will probably stay the same but I doubt they pass up the opportunity next year with everything in New York

Nope.
Even from a pure workrate standpoint AJ/Nakamura, Uso’s/New Day/Bludgeons, and Miz/Balor/Rollins should be as good or better than anything on Takeover and even if they’re not. The pop that will happen when Daniel Bryan returns puts Mania over the top. Factor in the sheer spectacle of it all and Mania is definitely better regardless of the shitty build that this years show has had.

There are several matches on the Takeover card that may possibly rival or top Styles/Nakamura in terms of workrate. Moon/Bazler will be way better than the RAW title match and possibly up there with SD’s match. But yeah I think the Mania card will have some quality wrestling matches and of course there’s the sheer spectacle of it all. I think Takeover will be a very decent outing though

I'd hope so, on account of the fact that it's a way shorter runtime, but also I'd be lying if I said that there's anything on this card that interests me rn besides Black vs. Almas.
