Harry Anderson, who became a household name starring in the massive TV hit "Night Court," has died. Anderson rose to fame playing Judge Harry Stone on the sitcom that ran from 1984 to 1992. Before "Night Court" he frequently appeared on "Saturday Night Live." The actor died at his home Monday in North Carolina. All authorities are saying is that no foul play is suspected. Anderson also appeared on "Cheers" and stared in his own sitcom, "Dave's World," which ran from 1994 to 1997. He was also an accomplished magician and even opened a magic shop in the French Quarter of New Orleans. He also had a nightclub in the French Quarter called Oswald's Speakeasy. In his later years, Anderson kept a low profile, only occasionally appearing in shows like "30 Rock," "Son of the Beach" and "Comedy Bang! Bang!" He's survived by 2 children. Anderson was 65. Damn, RIP. I always liked him as an actor, I remember he was perfect as Dave Berry in Dave's World.

Well this one is a shocker. I know 65 isn't exactly "young" but it still feels like he died too soon. RIP Harry the Hat.

RIP to him. This seems like a surprise. He stayed out of the spotlight, and as far as I know, wasn't sick. Condolences to his family.

RIP
This hits my childhood hard. Love Night Court and in my rewatch of Cheers, he was great as Harry the Hat. I used to watch Dave's World too.

This was definitely a shock. I used to watch Night Court a lot. I know he had quit acting at some point because he was more into doing his illusion act, but he will be missed.

I loved IT and Night Court as a kid. I know IT has generally aged badly, but I felt like he hit the mark more than most of the adults did.
Dave's World, I remember watching, but not much about it.

Another member of the losers’ club has passed on. 65 is too young to die in today’s world. See ya around Richie Tozier. R.I.P.

I still watch Night Court most weekdays on Laff. As a kid I loved Cheers and Night Court. And both shows got even funnier when I got older and started to get more of the jokes. Harry Anderson was damn good in everything I saw him in. A few years ago I found one of his HBO,I think it was HBO,specials on Youtube. Seems to be from either right before he was on Cheers or that short time he was between Cheers and Night Court. His mixture of magic and comedy was really good.I loved Dave's World when it was airing. And wish some channel would rerun it.
I had a bad day yesterday, nothing major just a mood swing caused by my Bi Polar. So today I knew I had to stay busy to be happy. Had a great day,my favorite uncle who is the one that got me into comics/sci fi/horror as a kid came by to visit and is spending the night here. He even took all of us out to eat tonight. Went to visit a friend and watched semi main event 6 man tag from the 2018 Wrestlecon Supershow. Get home go to check my email and see Judge Stone has passed. So since I read that news around 9pm I have been watching my Night Court DVDs. Even now after having seen most episodes of the show at least 10 times it is still in my top 5 sitcoms of all time.
RIP Mr Anderson you have been making me laugh smile and think since I was a young child and I wish I could have met you and thanked you for that.
