Somebody needs to stop saying Yes to Vince for a second and explain to him that progression doesn’t mean going backwards.

I don't have a lot of desire to keep seeing my childhood hero as a broken down, sad and flawed old man, but I would seriously like to have him back in the video games and the action figure line. Have him defeat Lesnar and retire that belt. That said, I would mark so hard for this I'd have to go to the hospital.

So cool we get to have this thread again, I can't f***ing wait. Hey, we could always talk about Roman Reigns some more. He never gets discussion on here. I mean hey, at least FAN is the kind of place where we can have civil discussions about Roman Reigns and it not turn into an insane weirdo battlefield of unhinged weirdos screaming down and running out anyone who likes Roman. We might talk the matter to death, but t's a topic we can talk about easily. Hogan's got that big elephant in the room and it's not an easy topic to avoid people feeling even a bit of a bad taste in their mouth.

I don’t care what he means to wrestling, there’s zero reason to bring this jackass back.

I don't have a lot of desire to keep seeing my childhood hero as a broken down, sad and flawed old man, but I would seriously like to have him back in the video games and the action figure line. I think it would be okay to have a compromise where he's a character in the video games, and they stop pretending like he doesn't exist, but not have him make any more appearances on Raw, SD, or PPV (Network interviews may be okay). Wrestling is weird because the character and performer are so closely tied. I think if an actor in one of my favorite movies was a racist, it would be easier to think, "he's a jerk, but since this is a work of fiction that a ton of other people worked on, I can still enjoy it". I'd like to remember the good times when Hogan was this larger than life superhero, but it's hard to separate that from Hogan the person. I think it's too bad that he hasn't shown much remorse for the things he said. I'd like to think that people can learn and change, but it doesn't seem like he's done much in the last three years to make amends.

My whole stance on this is if they're gonna glorify people like Warrior and Moolah (Until Snickers intervened) and act like Saudi Arabia is a "Progressive City that is totally awesome", having Hulk back is like... low on the list of controversial shit they could do lately. It's sad when one of their biggest names of all-time admitting to being a racist and botching every opportunity at a public apology is the LEAST offensive thing that's happened with them lately.

People should just target the sponsors. It worked with Moolah.

What's the benefit to WWE? What, in 2018, does Hogan have to contribute? Nothing in terms of on-air talent. However, Hogan is still the biggest star of the 80's and a legend that is still popular with casual fans. He can still be valuable used in a legends roll and doing things for the network and using his likeness in video games. As posted above, this rumor pops up every few months. Will believe it when I see it. Look at what happened the last time he was a brand ambassador. Did business spike? History says otherwise. He has nothing left to contribute, period.

Why wouldn't they bring him back? Let's be real here, nobody is going to stop watching. This isn't Moolah in the middle of a Me Too, movement; this is different. This is a company that just took a shitload of money from a government that won't allow women to be on the show, or Sami Zayn. This is company that runs out the Ultimate Warrior Award, named after a person, who said legit awful, awful things, not caught in a moment of weakness, or on hidden camera, but on camera, and on his blog. This is a company that has had one African-American in a singles main event of of PPV since Rock-Cena II(Sasha Banks in 2016), and hasn't had a male African American, outside Rock, wrestle Main Event a singles PPV main event since R-Truth in 2011. This is a company which, in 2018, continually will only give sustained pushed to African American wrestlers if they are comedy acts. If you are still watching at this point, and it is them hiring back Hogan that causes you to turn off, then you are bigger hypocrites that they are, and I say this as one of those hypocrites.
The reason these threads go nowhere is because there is no right answer; no answer to make everybody happy. It's a horrible situation with a company that continually makes horrible decisions, and who moves the line of decency based on nothing but the whims of a 72 year old man and a candy company. Nothing about it makes me feel good. Even so much of the reasoning(What will they gain at this point) is really sickening, and shows us, the wrestling fan, in a bad light. If Hogan was 42, and in the prime of his career, we'd understand it better, but because he's a shambling old fool, this is the line they should draw? Because, this is less about Hogan and what he said, and who he hurt, and more about us; feeling like we have some moral highground as we talk about The Greatest Royal Rumble, or watch the cosplay Bayley as the Ultimate Warrior. And if I am throwing all of us fans together, it is not my intention, but I do think it is a solid majority, at least those, like myself, who continue to watch this company, give them $9.99 a month for the network.
Thanks for listening.

Get the likeness rights sorted out for merch and video games and be done with it. I have no use for him as a TV presence. Yup that’s pretty much the end all be all. You get his likeness for the games and that’s about it. Make him like Nash and others, just keep him out of sight

So cool we get to have this thread again, I can't f***ing wait. Hey, we could always talk about Roman Reigns some more. He never gets discussion on here. Just wait until they pair Hogan with Regins. There only one way Roman can finally defeat Lesnar and that with the power of the Hulk Latarn Ring.

Personally I want things to be good between Hulk and the E-regardless of our of the ring antics, he should be honored for what he’s done in the business just like Bruno, Savage etc. As far as people not knowing who he is, well that’s their fault unfortunately-either remember the past or disavow it all together and act like this is their golden age. Now I’ll be in the vault

I find that I just dont care.
I dont care to see him back, nor do I care if he comes back.
He's Hulk Hogan, he WAS wrestling, and it's shit that his legacy will now be that he made racist comments. But he said it, and you can't ignore that and it's on tape.
While I do think there is A LOT of sanctimony going on around some of the wrestling controversies around, this one is what it is. Depressing as that is.

I ask this question every time a Hogan thread pops up and no one ever answers it: why are you guys so offended by what Hogan said, but still without any hesitation giving your hard earned money to Vince McMahon who is a bigoted, sexist, xenophobic, etc, person himself? Can someone please explain what moral high ground some of you believe you are on when you support a company like this? It baffles me:

Secondly, believe it or not some people tune out of the sexism, bigotry, xenophobia and other situations as in "I won't watch when this stuff is shown" similar to many others and their opinion on Hogan when he shows up. It's not hard to understand.

The man, for all his former star power, is a cancer on pro wrestling. He helped kill WCW. He helped do irreversible damage to TNA to the point where they're on death's door. He does nothing to help out the current product at a time when WWE should be desperate to build up new stars instead of relying on the nostalgia pop which stopped being a thing years ago when WWE beat that horse to death, raised it from the dead, and then killed it again.
And that's just touching on the professional issues without going into other reasons why he's a piece of trash like his racism or insulting hurricane victims.
