WWE Reveals First 8 Superstars For UK Tournament

The rest of the competitors will be revealed on Friday of this week. The opening round of the tournament will begin at the UK Download festival on June 8th, June 9th and June 10th. WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne will defend his title against the tournament winner at the June 19th event.

Interesting to see who's in the other eight names - the biggest surprise of these eight is Amir Jordan, who's only just beginning to break out. Although he's Yorkshire based, he was trained at the old PROGRESS school, but has also trained with Rampage Brown. Shocked WWE just outed Ligs as being from Leeds like that, he's from LOS SANCHOS, MEXICO damnit!

I think the contracts were voided a while back when it looked like ITV weren't going forward with it anymore. Coffey has been very quiet this year so I think this will lead to a full time WWE gig for him now.

World of Sport would have had a contract structured more like a normal TV show, where if a project doesn't move forward or get picked up by a certain point in time, the contract nulls itself out because the show didn't go anywhere. You don't get to hold a "We'll use you eventually just sit tight" contract with someone unless you're WWE.
