Boy, WWE sure wants you to know that you will accept Roman and learn to like it.
It's a good thing the ratings are at an all time high, oh wait...

Was this said by Roman? Because it sounds like something Coach would tweet out after getting pissy over Twitter comments.

I can learn to like it. I just choose not to, because I know it makes WWE madder.

I accept that his matches give me some of the best naps I've ever had.

I had no idea Roman said this!
Because I don't watch Raw anymore because they're so set in their ways.
but yeah, keep on the path.

You know, for how dead set they are on not turning Roman, they sure do love making him sound like a heel.

Occasional stuff like this allows WWE to say "hey, everything we do with Roman is intentional. We totally know what we're doing with him and haven't been screwing up for the last four years. He's just like John Cena (except Cena moved the needle in the right direction and sold way more merch). We're the major league company that tells stories while the independents just do wrestling."

It'd be a damn good line for a heel, if only he was booked like one, and commentary acknowledged him as one.
If Vince had gotten over his stubbornness, turned Roman heel at the appropriate time and then turned him back after letting him be a dick for a while, we wouldn't be in this mess. Instead, we're stuck with this trainwreck Gary Stu of a character who's somehow humble yet arrogant, no-nonsense yet whiny, "polarizing" yet praised by every announcer, with weaknesses and losses conveniently cherry-picked in such a way that they never really prevent him from bouncing right back to his position as the most important character on the show.

And the fans continue going to the show and watching it on television as well. How about just not watching it? I saw the Raw thread had 80 pages of the same people making snide remarks, commenting on the product, and yet they can't seem to change the channel or just not watch it altogether. Vince isn't going to change unless people stop going to the shows, cancel their subscriptions, and not purchasing any WWE related merchandise to the point to where it starts to hurt Vince's bottom line.
Until fans stop complaining and find other forms of alternative entertainment no significant change will happen. I found myself getting frustrated with the WWE, their repetitive and stale storylines, and them moving away further from what I grew up loving. Once I realized it was time for me to simply stop watching the product, move on to other shows that didn't insult my intelligence/consumerism, and in the process I found other forms of entertainment that not only made me happy but I didn't feel as if I was missing anything related to the WWE. I found myself happier and don't miss it at all. I may turn it on at the gym as background noise, read up on it, or hear other people talking about it. But as far as watching the show? I haven't nor do I go out of my way to watch Raw, Smackdown, NXT, I don't purchase any WWE related products, and I don't have a subscription to the Network. Seriously it's so much better and refreshing to simply stop watching a product that doesn't entertain you anymore.

Did read this a couple weeks ago: "The new speculation is that WWE is trying to book Roman Reigns like a cool heel in the hopes fans would then cheer him like a babyface." I can see it too, they desperately grasp at any straws they can to try to make him work, haha.

I'm sure WWE only cares about people that like Roman Reigns so that line will be most likely eaten up by Roman fans cos f*** the haters right?
If someone tells you to not like something you're probably gonna like it more right? That goes for Roman Reigns too.

Most don't stop watching a favorite TV show the second it starts declining in quality. People try to stick with it and hope it gets better. But I'm mostly in your boat myself now, don't watch any programming anymore and don't get WWE network at all when I used to get it every so often. They make their product this massive boring time sink and then show contempt for the fans for reacting negatively to it. We're in an era where wrestling is competing with lots and lots of other stuff for people's time. Either make the product worth our time or don't bother.

Well ratings, attendance etc. have been going down, so this IS happening just gradually. Yet then they get a huge Saudi deal, a huge Fox deal, so it doesn't matter. And personally, it doesn't affect me. I have the network, watch NXT, working through 1997 RAWs. They have my money, just never going to watch the main show. Even current PPVs, I'll watch matches that sound interesting to me. I'm not going to sacrifice all the stuff I love because 1, admittedly large, part of the current product sucks.

Seriously it's so much better and refreshing to simply stop watching a product that doesn't entertain you anymore. Here is the problem with what you're saying, Vince doesn't care because he's getting paid. Attendance for live events is down and falling, TV viewership is plummeting, and I believe merch sales are down too. Those TV threads would easily hit 100 pages and routinely go past that while PPVs would do even better so people, a whole hell of a lot of them, have left. The only growth I can think of has been in TV rights fees and WWE Network subs. However the Network subs aren't the best indicator since they lump new subs with old subs and have no safeguards in place for people abusing the free month offer. WWE has been able to make up for this by entering new markets and jacking up prices here but that won't last forever.

People who watch a show they don't like are doing it because they desperately want this thing they've been passionate about for years, sometimes from childhood onward, become good again. Or, they like parts of the show and have an investment in corners of it, but dislike other parts. It's the same posters in every thread throwing out the same old tired lines ignoring these parts and doesn't it ever get tiring to harp on the exact same idea over and over without ever acknowledging all that middle ground and the reality of the viewership numbers and how Vince hasn't changed in the face of those that people respond to you with?

They aren't turning Roman because they don't have to. He can say things like this and it fits his character, and his reactions.
The only people obsessed with everyone cheering Roman are people online.
