I'm talking about Hell In A Cell, TLC, etc.
This is the worst, laziest thing WWE does. It enables them to stop thinking on how to continue feuds because there are designated months for Hell In A Cell and TLC matches.
Whoever came up with this should be fined a year's salary, whoever approved it should have to give $5 million every year to charity until the concept ends.
And they should be forced to apologize for their laziness publicly on as many media platforms possible.

It sucks, and there's barely any gimmick matches now even on the match specific event so I don't even get the point anymore. HIAC is pretty diluted outside of when Undertaker or Triple H needs it for a WM match.

If you watch any show from the 80’s and 90’s and realize how much Vince paid attention to every detail and cared about the product back then versus how much he’s half assing it now, you almost feel bad for the fans who started watching post-WCW buyout or post 2010.

I, for one, am shocked that Fatal 4 Way didn't become a yearly staple

"Elimination Chamber" (during it's on/off existence) gets a pass, but yeah, the rest... it's a crutch.

Good thing they don't borrow from TNA, or we would get WWE: Feast or Fired...

Good thing they don't borrow from TNA, or we would get WWE: Feast or Fired... WWE took the whole idea from TNA. They had Lockdown first. One time they were "ahead of the game".

Good thing they don't borrow from TNA, or we would get WWE: Feast or Fired... Every mention of "Feast or Fired" makes me angry, because it makes me think of a time when I actually felt bad for Chavo. They f***ing used those matches to legit fire him and Daivari...

I'm fine with PPVs having it's designated match (Rumble, Fall Brawl, Hell in a cell, EC) but at least be creative with the PPV names

Not really bothered, for the most part.
Hell in a Cell WAS basically a yearly thing, even before the PPV. HHH or Undertaker would have their yearly HIAC match in the summer/fall for whatever feud they had. And there's really no way to make an Elimination Chamber have a natural build. Same with MITB. I mean, it works for the Royal Rumble.
Its also made it much easier for them to expand these gimmick into Womens matches. If the men are already having EC and MITB matches yearly then its much more natural for it to be the "PPV theme" and also let the women have their own versions.

I honestly have no idea how they became fans. That has always intrigued me. If someone became a fan recently, that means they began watching the show when kayfabe was eliminated, everyone from the announcers to the talent to the fans acknowledge that the show is fake during the actual show, and there is no need for storyline explanations because people watching have been conditioned to shrug their shoulders and accept anything shoved in their faces. How does one become a fan of a show like this? In the 80’s I remember Vince explaining everything. Even the tiniest detail that might have an inconsistency was explained. Maybe not 100% of the time but close to it. Lazy names for the PPVs is one thing, but they are lazy about everything. And there are no consequences. It’s mind boggling.

Wouldn't "Lazy PPV names" just mean keeping the same ones? They changed the names to pop buyrates and it worked for HIAC and TLC, which is why they survived and it didn't for Breaking Point and Fatal 4-Way.
Its not lazy moreso than its them realizing what was a bigger draw name wise, and that certain gimmick matches can sell PPVs, which is what they already knew with the Rumble. The only argument here just seems like nostalgia for the PPV names they dropped.

I go for the EWR method and would name PPVs after rock and metal songs.
WWE: Shot in the Dark (main event is fought in complete darkness)
WWE: First Blood (all matches are first blood matches, so like other WWE PPVs named after gimmick matches it loses all originality)
WWE: A Lesson In Violence (cool sounding name, and also when playing EWR one time I put Christian and Low Ki as a tag team, found they worked very well together, so made them an official team with this name)

If they appended subtitles to the match name-based PPV (i.e. Hell in a Cell: Rollins vs. Reigns II) or something, they'd be fine.
