I admit, sometimes I feel blue. I don’t like using the word depressed since it diminishes actual depression, but every now and then I find myself feeling a bit down in the dumps.
What usually gets you out of your funk? Even if it’s really small and a few minutes.
I like work out, listen to wrestling podcasts. Sometimes I just read small funny anecdotes about people’s day, really nerdy arguments about things that don’t really matter, reading about dumb criminals, reading about or watching videos of old people doing amazing things, cats and dogs on social media, maybe watch a movie.
I’ve been trying to watch more movies lately. Finally caught up with all the Marvel stuff (except ant man 2). I’m really behind on movies the last few years. Anyone recommend a good comedy or anything? I was thinking of watching the Disaster artist after seeing a review for the Room (heard about for years but finally see what the fuss is all about). I like absurd silliness or really dry humor. I used to love parody movies up until the (insert genre) Movie phase happened. I’m not a fan of Amy Schumer but I heard all the John Cena movies are pretty funny.

"Game Night" is pretty funny, ya should check it out.
My pick-me-up is jogging. Instant mood-reliever since I was 17.

Clonazepam, it takes about fifteen minutes to kick in for me.
But if you’re trying to avoid antidepressants try video games. They usually took my mind off things

Music, especially cheesy 80s and 90s pop and dance songs. For me, this song sums up music’s power to help me deal with any emotion:
Going outside. I live within walking distance of a few parks, and they have walking trails that take you pretty deep into the forest. I enjoy the quiet and just being in nature. Plus, I always feel good when I feel my Fitbit watch vibrate, knowing that I reached 10,000 steps for that day.
As strange as this will sound, this very forum. Whether it’s a Photoshop thread or just folks giving their two cents on the various goings-on in wrestling, there’s a reason I’ve been here for 13(!) years. I love being part of this community.

I saw this interview with Valerie Bertinelli on William Shatner’s Raw Nerve talk show about ten years ago. She talked about feeling depressed or negative or angry. She said she would stop for a moment and ask herself what that was doing for her. She realized it only made her feel a lot worse so she stopped stressing herself over things. What was done was done. It was beyond her control. She was disappointed that she wasted so much time, so many years, letting things get to her once she realized that.
I conditioned myself to ask myself the same question each time I felt harmful negativity entering my mind. “What’s that doing for you?” I had the same answer. Making me feel worse about the situation. So I slowly learned to stop getting worked up or down over things. My stress level went way down and I felt a lot healthier. It doesn’t work 100% of the time but it sure does most of the time. Such a small one off line from an interview became a life changing event for me. I can’t believe how effective it is. It’s so simple. I feel foolish not realizing it myself. It honestly works.

I go onto youtube and type 'Jim Cornette shoot Vince Russo'. Within 30 seconds minute I'm laughing again.

One of the reasons I got into How It's Made is because it helped me out when my feelings were getting the better of me. I wanted to calm down and eventually vedge put and I didn't think I cold do it if I was watching a show with a plot. I stopped on the episode onm clothing buttons and I was able to clear my head and calm down.
I like to talk to my friends and family, if they are up for talking. I like to take naps to give my mind and body a break.

Physical activity, especially running or swimming. And by swimming, it doesn't necessarily have to be laps, just any kind of movement while in a body of water.
"Real" short paranormal stories. I honestly don't care how much validity they have, as long as they are presented as true, and aren't easily disproven. Nothing too heavy.
The Simpsons. Don't care what episode/season, it just REALLY helps calm me down simply by being on.
And it might be cheating, but by playing with my dog Patty, the mop in my avi pic. She's conceited as all get out and demands you drop everything to love and worship her, which means I have to push out any negative feelings to make room for her.
Eating fresh fruit. Sounds silly, but that blast of hydration really cheers me up.
