Played football in high school. Didn't do that. Have a niece in Gymnastics. She doesn't throw herself at the floor 50 times in a day. I think maybe you need to research these things alittle more? That is crazy talk, I played football my entire life. You are hitting all day in practice. If wrestling is so much more dangerous than football, why do injured football players transition to wrestling? Because they're offered easy contracts by virtue of being big dudes with some amount of athletic talent? It's not that it's easier work, it's that it's the only thing comparable money wise. The hell else is a dirt tier never-was football player going to do when his career ends before it begins? I don't know what to tell you. I played football and trained and everything. There's physicality all the time but I wasn't being told to transform my body into a callus by repeated abuse.

Yeah, I see this as harmless fun. Worst case scenario, maybe Izzy throws a drop kick but I’d be willing to bet money that she doesn’t take a bump, and probably doesn’t leave her feet. She’s not working a full match, she’s not bumping night in and night out, let the kid have a little fun. When I was her age, I’d have killed to do something like this. Hell, I’m 32 and if some Indy wanted me to do something like this I’d be all over it. I'm sticking with....nah on this one. Indy wrestling is a seedy, carny, explotative environment for ADULTS. Is it necessary to bring a tween into that? For real. It's all fun until someone gets damaged. I'm sure no indy wrestler carnies are waiting to take advantage of a mark kid and her mark parents.

I'm not going to compare whatever Izzy will end up doing that the "training" that Paige had to go through with her carny family without more evidence.

You need to be at least some level of good at football to have a successful career in football. With wrestling, you don't need to be anywhere near as good to find a decent niche at collect six figures a year. Case in point: Titus O'Neil. Or you get a guy who wasn't too great at football as a sport but can make in-ring stuff look decent enough, like a CFL washout named The Rock. When there's way more spaces for people to come up into football than there are spaces in the big leagues for football players who can find a career doing it, stuff like wrestling is always going to have an appealing ring to some people.

I severely doubt she's taking any bumps. Probably she'll just get tagged in to do a kick or get the pin or something. Yeah, I see this as harmless fun. Worst case scenario, maybe Izzy throws a drop kick but I’d be willing to bet money that she doesn’t take a bump, and probably doesn’t leave her feet. I mean I've seen her YouTube channel videos of her wrestling training before, it's basically just a lot of selling punches and elbows, no bumping.

Totally side conversation here: Does Leva's Ultimate Cosplayer gimmick mean she actually takes on the wrestling style and moves of who she's dressing as? Because that's MONEY.
(also does it mean she's the mastermind?)

I’m not talking about wash outs, I’m talking about people are are injured and transition to wrestling. There have been lots over the years. And those that are saying football practice doesn’t consist of hitting and getting hit everyday, it reminds me of the scene in The 40 Year Old Virgin where Steve Carrell is trying to talk to Seth Roger about touching a boob, but it is quite obvious he has never felt a boob.

The kinds of injuries that can end a football career--which again demands a certain level of performance relative to someone else in a way wrestling doesn't--don't always mean certain death for a wrestling career. You need only look at the washed up 50-60 year-olds on the indies or even guys like the Hardys right now even in the big leagues. Wrestling even while your body gives out is something people do because of the nature of wrestling, and that's not something they can really do in the NFL.

So, about her not taking bumps... It was a safe, gentle bump and well protected... But still a bump. Don't feel good about this at all.

I dunno it looks like he tried to take it easy but her head hitting the mat looks pretty gnarly to me. Not really my place to say whether she should be wrestling or not. Wrestling young is not unheard of and at least she has a leg up in WWE. All she has to do is be decent and she'll probably have a job since she's kind of embedded in that world as it is. Hopefully they don't do anything too stupid with her in the meantime.

I stopped working 13 years ago now and still have back and shoulder issues. Seeing a sweet kid like that risk the same issues is unsettling.

Those clips are so embarrisingly bad. A 13yo taking bumps is stupid anyway, add in the fact she moves so badly and doesn't even come across as an athletic kid and it's all just the very worst of what wrestling can be.
