When Brock Lesnar abruptly quit in 2004, I seem to remember that the reason he used when he eventually sued to get the 7-year no-compete thrown out was because it came out that if someone chose to sit out of WWE for a year, their contract was considered void.
Neville walked away ten and a half months ago, so it may be a situation where they released him since his deal would be considered void soon anyway.

I hope he shows up to All In.The dude was the only person that felt like a star on 205 Live and it’s amazing he accomplished that seeing how poorly he was used on the main roster before that.

Don't know if he'll be at All In but you can guarantee he's gonna be at the MSG show this April.

Don't blame Neville at all for wanting out.
It must suck to work your arse off to improve, develop a whole new character, a new wrestling style, get over with the crowd, carry the show for months only to be told that rather than get an opportunity on a main show, you're been kicked to the back of the pack.
Baffling by WWE. He'd have been great in the US and IC division.

I’m going to lose my f***ing mind at All In if he comes out. Totally bonkers.
BOSJ could be insane next year.

Just another infuriating thing this company has done. King Neville was amazing and should have been rewarded justly. I hope he tears up the indies and sticks it to WWE the best he possibly can. The guy carried the division, had good matches and showed he can talk. I'm not saying he needs a 600 day run with the Universal Belt but what the hell was wrong with Neville moving upwards? Best performer in the whole company when he was on 205 Live. I'm just glad we here at FAN were able to appreciate it while it was happening.

Fittingly, I feel like WWE's going to take their grip on the UK indies they are tight with and try to keep them from booking Neville. If he doesn't show up in Progress that's both "interesting" and also a huge mark against what those companies are doing by getting in bed with WWE. The more I see the UK scene, the more this stuff seems overstated. For example, if WWE really had control over who worked at ICW, Bram would have been told he’s not booked anymore a LONG time ago and Grado wouldn’t be back doing dates there. So Neville ending up in PROGRESS or OTT isn’t entirely out of the question at all.

"What? This dude has really started to thrive as a character outside of the very small pigeonhole we had planned for him? Screw that noise."

I'm conflicted.
On one hand, I'm super disappointed that WWE was so stubborn as to not bring him back as part of the main roster talent. He could have been right in the mix on Smackdown right now against AJ and Bryan as a bad ass heel.
On the other hand, I know he is absolutely going to kill it on the independents. Dude is ridiculously talented, and now that you can add the extra incentive of being able to showcase the talent that WWE wasted, his appearances will be can't miss occasions.
On the third hand, I'm primarily a WWE watcher, so I eventually want him back there so that he can have more dream matches (against Riddle, Lee, etc) on the biggest stage. I definitely look forward to the "Vince didn't know Neville was capable of this type of performance and is interested in bringing him back" dirt sheet stories in a year. I definitely want WWE groveling at his feet at some point.
On the fourth hand (Ganesh style), I half want Neville to finish out his career flipping the figurative middle finger to WWE and making more money on the independents than he ever made in WWE, while having all time classics in NJPW and elsewhere.
I just want the best for the guy, because he is a top talent on any metric. And for WWE to have wasted him on a show that they then and still now barely give a second glance to borders on the criminal.

Neville is a bit different because he's had a really high profile issue with the company for about a yeah, we'll see.

I disagree in part because, especially with Bram, it only takes one journalist a little bit of research time to set up a potential problem and cause things to go crazy. But also if WWE were to stop booking decisions and have these companies be “developmental” then they’d want their talents to fill it, not have for example the majority of the women’s division and the champion be World of Sport signees. And also to add to this, OTT has a relationship with WWE and literally just announced they were getting LIJ in for October. Which should probably be the biggest no no going but it’s happening.

SMEAGOL IS FREEEEEEE! I mean...clearly Neville’s gonna show up at All In and help Marty knock off Okada, pop the crowd something huge, then turn on Marty because heels gotta heel. ...Oh my God this would be perfect. I definitely think he's at All In. I also think that if he went to NJPW, he could be the one guy to make the Firing Squad work. Pissed off, angry, arrogant King Neville wanting to vent his anger by smashing up NJPW could be the star power Firing Squad desperately needs.

If WWE hasn't killed his passion for wrestling I'd love to see him New Japan and back in a PWG ring again.

Hope he kills it back on the indies. Sucks that he and WWE couldn’t work things out since there’s a lot of money left on the table, but he shouldn’t be made to stay if he’s openly unhappy.

Neville is excellent but I don't feel sorry for him in this situation. He had a great run on 205, killed it, and left pretty much straight after he dropped the belt. From when he returned and turned heel to him walking out, he was booked like a 205 Braun, and I thought the walkout was a bad look on him considering the run.

From when he returned and turned heel to him walking out, he was booked like a 205 Braun, and I thought the walkout was a bad look on him considering the run. As soon as the angle with Consensual Penis was over, Neville was going back to 205 live and back to wrestling in front of dead crowds in matches that didn't matter, in a division that WWE had told the fans didn't matter. He wasn't going to move higher on the card to a place that his run as the 205 champion warranted.
He was going to be pushing against the glass celling and not breaking it. He would be in the same boat as Tozawa, who despite getting over with Titus Worldwide (and working with his real life bestie Apollo Crews), went back to 205 and started teaming with the past it Hideo Itami.
