Why do I get the feeling this will end like the Punk situation? He'll come out early next year, explain what happened once he's legally free to do so, and people will rapidly start to sour on him because it paints the WWE in a bad light. Stupid Neville, never any good, why won't he shut up after one interview?

I'm not saying some people didn't sour on him, but it didn't seem like people really started turning on him for a long-ass while. There was a lot of sympathy for Punk over the wedding day firing and the doctor shit. Things only really began to twist when the UFC stuff happened, and then again with the recent Colt suit and that still-weird mess. I'm not sure anyone's ever been turned on for painting WWE in a bad light unless they were a weirdo douche about it.

If a dude has worked all his contracted dates and is unhappy to the point of going home then just release him. It seems like such a no brainer

The strategy now seems to be to hold guys down and cool them off by letting them sit at home for a while so when they hit the scene again, they're not 'as big'.

I dunno, people were saying he should stop whining in discussion threads for the first and only interview he'd done at that point in time, and the same seems to happen to everyone who leaves the WWE with a legitimate grievance and makes no secret about it. There is always some reason the WWE were in the right in the situation.

Some people are going to think any given thing, but the overwhelming feeling I got was supportive of Punk until he went and made an ass of himself. Even when the Amann case went into court he still had plenty of supporters; I don't think in 2018 that there can be a mass turning-on anyone over a legitimate grievance with WWE. The climate just isn't there for that.

Happy for him... That last heel run was awesome and he should have climbed the ladder past the cruiser weights ala Jericho
Wwe ruining Austin Aries and Neville is ridiculous

Stupid Neville, never any good, why won't he shut up after one interview? You say that as if there also aren't a bunch of people who love to take any opportunity, justified or not, to shit on WWE. It seemed like 80-90% of people were on Punk's side when he did that interview with Cabana. It's his delusions of grandeur with MMA and the more recent stuff with Cabana that seems to have soured people on Punk.

... so why was he in Pittsburgh? His old contract was torn up, and he was given a shiny new one with certain demands fit for a King after he passed his medicals in Pittsburgh right? Right? .... RIGHT?!

WWE.com’s put Neville in the Alumni section.
So I guess it’s official...
