Austin Aries is going to end up threatening Shark Boy with a gun, isn't he? I need that to happen. Although I'm not sure TNA can afford to rent a house to shoot the segment.

Austin Aries is going to end up threatening Shark Boy with a gun, isn't he? If he does, we'd better get Shark Boy giving Aries a swirly in the Impact Zone bathroom. Y'know, when they can afford to run a building that has bathrooms.

I guess I don’t care what angle they take this into. If they want to do the loose cannon thing with Aries, he probably can pull it off & get heat with it. They also seem to be hoping to leverage Survivor and Johnny. Make him your babyface champion while he’s on a popular TV show- good idea.
The biggest problem they have is Aries no-selling the finish. That kills pretty much everything. Yes, people know this is a work, but this is just unnecessary 4th wall breaking.

A worked shoot isn't worth shit if it doesn't make money. TNA isn't getting interested people from this, they're getting called out as idiots. Bound for Glory was a perfectly fine show people are positive about, and instead of letting that be the conversation moving forward it's all about this Aries nonsense at the end. New champ got crowned and it doesn't mean shit because what's this Aries nonsense here? But then it's not playing into the TV tapings and nobody is tuning in to see it happen; it's a net negative for the company because it's not going to convince anyone to watch it and might dispel some people of the notion they should tune in because their good show will get capped off by that crap.

It was also the show that is their biggest PPV of the year. You wouldn't see Wrestlemania go off the air with a worked shoot.

Got them some buzz on the forum, something they've been missing since Dixie left.

So it would just get written off as him being a shithead instead of unstable like Pillman. Not to mention as I said earlier Pillman happened when this stuff was fresh and not after people like Russo pulling worked shoot stuff like every 4 months for 20 years

Also, if Aries does leave TNA... how does this help TNA? Johnny Nitro does not have the automatic program you could have done following the title change where you could have had Aries and Nitro battle for a few months, and while you could have people plopped in as serviceable opponents for him, it actually takes away from the fact he is Impact Champion if the guy who had the belt previously got all pissy about dropping it or some shit. TNA is like a historically bad college football program; any slip-up, no matter how minor, instantly undoes any effort they put in trying to become respected because they do not have the history of success to soften any blows. That's why the failures are more obvious than the successes.

And people forget the Pillman stuff really didn't make WCW any money Yeah, since he bolted to WWF as soon as possible. The person that got worked the most by Loose Cannon Brian Pillman was Eric Bischoff.

I didn't get worked, I knew exactly what was going on and what his end game was". Except he didn't know what Pillman's end game was, because he was expecting Pillman to come back to WCW after the buzz he got in ECW, and Pillman bolted to the WWF.

I don't buy the end game being a worked shoot situation, we knew going into his TNA return Aries was likely to depart the moment he was unhappy with something because he's done it before and his contract allowed him yo so that's where we are. The thing is, Aries has buried the hatchet with companies in the past do it's not a matter of if he'll be back, but when, and his promos always have an 'I'm pissed at management vibe' so it's easy news for a site like SEScoops to say that it's always been the plan and not just a hotheaded guy being who he is.

Not many people know this but before Pillman departing wcw, Hogan wanted to work with him on Uncensored 96, and by wanting to work with him I mean pin him clean lol, Pillman then worked Bischoff into releasing him haha.
