It's at 84% on RT right now. Considering the absolute battering people have been giving it before it's even been released, I'm actually quite pleased it seems to be a genuinely good movie.

Seems like some real effort went into making this movie. It was clearly something those involved cared about and wanted to make good.

I'll give it a watch if it's shown where I am.

I was hesitant just as a wrestling fan and seeing how many inaccuracies there are in the trailer alone, but it’s been getting solid reviews from what I’ve seen. Almost every article praises the performances and calls it a genuine feelgood movie.
So I’ll definitely check it out at some point. It’d be cool if it actually does well.

What, why wouldn't Paige have a cardboard version of a title that was only the top women's one for a year before she joined the company? For real though, I kind of want to give this a look myself. Stuff like that can be distracting but I can overlook it.

I'm wanting to be interested in it, but I'm really having a hard time getting past the fact that I couldn't possibly care less about Paige's story. On top of that you have the weird mix of mostly actors playing wrestlers, but The Rock playing himself. Definitely looks like the best bits will be Paige's family, especially Nick Frost. Looks like probably a 48-51 on the Tomato-meter, at best. I thought that said "Tomko-meter", and imagined him as a movie critic. Did you like the movie, Tomko? Did you see the movie, Tomko?

The trailer got my mom interested, so that alone is impressive. As long as it is being shown in my area, I’ll be checking it out with her.

I watched the trailer for the first time, it looks a decent enough movie. Although, I feel like I've pretty much seen it now I've watched the trailer. It seemed to tell me the entire story.

I've had a few non wrestling fans tell me this movie looks good. Maybe it will be successful at the box office.

It's at 90 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. That's pretty damn impressive. I didn't think much of it but may have to check this out now.

Looking at WWE studios other movies on Rotten Tomatoes and this is by far the best reviewed movie they've made yet. Only other ones close are Mohawk at an amazing 83% and Sleight at 77%, neither of which I ever heard of. Then Occulus at 74% and The Rundown at 70%. Other fun little facts: See No Evil has a 9% rating, but the sequel has a 60% rating. The first Marine movie is the only one with a tomato meter rating. Leprechaun: Origins has a 0% and I've seen that movie and it's well deserved.

I don't plan on seeing it, but I'm thrilled for Paige that it's getting good reviews. She's really turned her life around over the last year and a half or so, it's great to see.

Or did it just do better than expected?

I wasnt expecting this movie to be so well reviewed , I will check it out for sure . I loved the documentary about Paige and her family and this seems to be a decent movie . Kinda odd that The Rock and Zelina Vega are the only 2 actual wrestlers in this movie. Also who is Hutch Morgan , an actual executive for WWE ? Never heard the name before

I remember Sleight only because they did run commercials for it and it was marketed as being made by the team that did Get Out. So I guess the hype was from the fact that it was a surprise hit and actually made money. I wasnt expecting this movie to be so well reviewed , I will check it out for sure . Also who is Hutch Morgan , an actual executive for WWE ? Never heard the name before I think Hutch Morgan is just a movie creation. Based on the trailers he seems to be doing the work of a couple of different jobs. He’s appears to be scouting talent, signing talent, and working with them on day-to-day development. It seems like he’s an amalgamation of Canyon Ceman, Dusty, Regal, and maybe some other folks.

Anyone see that clip online of an IMDb interview with Kevin Smith, he asks Florence how she got into the role and she replies “What’s great is. You type in her name and so many videos come up... you know wresting...”
Paige just looks at the camera like Jim Halpert from The Office.
I’d share it here but I’m sure we can link to Reddit.

This is good to hear. That trailer was rough. This seems to be a common theme lately, bad trailers for movies that don't end up being bad... Looking at WWE studios other movies on Rotten Tomatoes and this is by far the best reviewed movie they've made yet. Leprechaun: Origins has a 0% and I've seen that movie and it's well deserved. Wasn't The Call or whatever with Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin pretty well received? Or did it just do better than expected? Well the See No Evil sequel is by the Soska Sisters and features Katharine Isabelle. Of course it was better. Also didn't WWE Studios buy into several of these movies (I thought The Call was one; it was already made before WWE was involved?) so they could get a distributor?
