Hearing this makes me glad that Callis has stepped away from New Japan as of late. Callis was calling matches for New Japan, not booking. Not as if he's ruining Impact as the show and ppvs have been really good this year.

If he's pushing for attitude era style stuff it bodes poorly though. What he says doesn't mean "Attitude Era". The show already is more mature, but his statement seems to continue in the direction his run of taking over. If his Attitude Era booking is closer to 2000 than 98/99, then Impact would still be in a good place.

Good point, when they tried to be like the Attitude Era with Russo, Gaburick, Jarrett they pretty much copied the worst part of 1998 and 1999 with the stupid swerves, nonsensical storylines, gimmick matches with no build etc.
If Impact wants to be like the Raws Kreski Era then thats a actually good.

You may be correct there, but virtually every time someone in wrestling says that, it's accompanied by the bad side. 2000 has a lot of highlights but also some pretty atrocious stuff too as well, like any era.

Yeah there was some crap in 2000, but there was far more good and great booking by Kreski.

Despite all I'm saying, I do hope you're right, it's just that this is very much a once bitten, a bajillion times shy situation with statements like that and his booking thus far doesn't fill me with confidence, for any other reason than its been mostly boring (awful lucha budgetground aside) and I don't see that more adult content would improve that. As with anything in wrestling, mileage and opinion will vary hugely here though.

Aside from anything related to the women division(Hervina becoming the womens champ), Patterson and Brisco feud, I dont remember anything really bad in WWF 2000.

...or they just mean that it's easier for their type of product to be on more of a male-oriented network. And while Pursuit is a nothing channel, they are right. It's the nature of the Tv business in this day and age outside of the main networks to focus on a fragmented segment of the population and create content specific to them. It can be anything, God knows National Geographic catter to animal/nature fans, Spike back in the day was obviously male-oriented, CW is geek girls, etc...It's not a bad idea for say someone that likes "manly thing" go back to the same channel that has all his interests at the same place. In fact I personally always wished to see a great genuinely male-centric channel but I have never seen one. Spike tried that but most of their content was crap. Have you looked at the social media of Pursuit? It's basically all hunting memes for dumb hicks with fragile senses of masculinity. Lots of calling people who don't like hunting girls (as if women didn't hunt.. or don't watch pro wrestling). Their social media comes off like it's run by some incel who calls people "cucks" on his real account. And TNA wants to correlates with the intended audience who finds this kind of insipid shit funny.
And if you want a male-centric channel, well, there's a whole bunch of them out there. Like most of television, for instance.
Because liking hunting shows and manly things suddenly these guys have a fragile sense of masculinity? Do women that watch women shows and women networks like Oprah have a fragile sense of feminity? Are you this offended by people liking things that are like them? Also most shows on Tv especially on the main networks are female-centric. all daytime shows are this way. You watch the Today Show and there's barely a dude in there. That is why guys in general are abandoning the main networks or Tv altogether, there's nothing for them other than sport. The side channels like History and AMC have good dramas, though like Vikings and so forth. Also incels? cucks? that's a level of online bitching that I find pathetic on every levels.

Since you seem incapable of reading comprehension, I specifically cited their social media. The fragile sense of masculinity comes from their social media insulting men's masculinity because they don't like hunting.
Though if you look at the descriptions of some of their actual shows, I guess there's a correlation there as well.
And if you consider "most of television" to just be the broadcast networks, you have a very antiquated sense of what "most of television" entails. Especially citing daytime TV, which has traditionally been geared towards female viewers for decades out of the idea that women are mostly housewives while the men are off working.

You are kind of reaching to defend this whole thing because you took his quote out of context

Because liking hunting shows and manly things suddenly these guys have a fragile sense of masculinity? There's nothing wrong with liking hunting shows. That's absolutely fine, more power to anyone that does, no one's taking that away from them. That's not the issue. The problem is in the fact their social media goes and posts things like this - or this - That just screams, "I have to constantly reassure myself that I'm a man."

So Eddie Edwards is going to have a Pillman gun angle, but they'll actually show him shooting Dreamer or Raven.
