Having watched his 2011 documentary “the last of Mcguiness”, I legit cried and was bummed out for a week. This documentary will also be sad.
I know he made it ok at the end, but Nigel had all the tools to become a huge star in the wwe.

Is Takeover UK airing live or on tape delay?

Is Takeover UK airing live or on tape delay? Live, presumably with a replay for the evening in North America

Especially when he had the breakdown in his car after his final show. Credit to him for keeping that in his movie.

Thanks for this thread, didn't know this was a thing. Huge fan of Nigel as he knocked it out of the park as ROH champion all those years ago.

I was there st The Baker Theater in Dover, NJ the night the climax of The Wrestler was filmed. They did some legit matches between filming. I had never heard of Nigel before that, but I’ll never forget how he tore into the audience that night, complete with wearing the title backwards so the center plate was over his ass and telling the crowd “kiss it!”

To this day he's my favorite heel of all time to boo because he was just so darn good at it. The backwards title bit was great like you mentioned. He just played it up so well.

During the sixth anniversary match between Nigel and Bryan. Nigel took the smartest of internet fans and made them believe that wrestling was real. He took them back to their childhood. I’ve never seen such a masterful performance in getting hate from the fans.

It's that Nigel and Pure champ Nigel (and even Desmond Wolfe to a minor point) I try and remember because his commentary for me is so lacking in emotion or changes in tone and modulation to reflect that. Hopefully we'll see that human side again and his performer side again in this documentary.

WWE posted the trailer for this today. Many a tear will be shed I think.

WWE posted the trailer for this today. Many a tear will be shed I think. That looks really good. Also it’s amazing how ROH Nigle, TNA Desmond Wolf, and today Nigel all look so drastically different

I liked the guy before but now after all this you can just feel his passion and that's always good to have if your on commentary.

I know it had a happy ending, but after all that Bryan lying to get in WWE and Nigel telling the truth and not getting a contract. Plus there history it really made me want Nigel vs. Bryan one last time. Give Nigel one WWE match!

I was a huge fan. And I’ve been disappointed with his commentary because he’s soooo f***ing knowledgable, enthusiastic and what he says is always solid and logical but his voice and levels just don’t match it. That being said, the documentary was amazing

The doc's a good "sequel" to the one from a few years back that he did about his retirement tour. It's still sad, yes, but there's at least a happier ending for McGuinness with his current WWE stint.
Also, Michael Cole backstage seems to be a good dude based on what he did.

what injuries did Bryan lie about exactly? wouldn't WWE's doctors have found out about Nigel's arm anyway?

Daniel lying about his injury and then him winning the title the day after Nigel's retirement is just heartbreaking all round.
I still think the ring post spot is the stupidest thing I've ever seen in wrestling though.

The ringpost spot just made me cringe. What an awful spot.
