He's been fine in his previous appearances.

Is whatever that's happening today going to be streamed?

Don't know if it's related to whatever the twitter is referring to, but apparently every available Chikara show up to Season 18 is now available on IWTV.

Unless I'm missing something on Twitter, the show seemed super-basic and nothing really happened.

Yeah, I don't understand what the point of that was. Quack faced Sonny DeFarge in the main event which is a big deal for DeFarge I'm sure, especially since he's a trainer at the school now. But yeah....

Apparently none of the matches were for points, so, unless something does happen in vignettes or the rumor about a huge partner of some sort is true, this show really didn't matter. Considering the hype, that's pretty bad. Everything should matter.

CHIKARA's kind of strapped for relevancy right now. The only thing that might save them is partnering for TV, Streaming, or another rumor, a WWE Developmental brand like EVOLVE that will give them more funding and talent. They're kind of at the end of their rope otherwise with the blossoming alternative scene.

The mystery show's listing has been taken off the Season 20 page now too so it will be interesting to see if this is edited into episodes of a weekly show now.

Apparently, almost all of the matches ended in submissions, too, so...that's super weird.
I really do wonder what the point of that show was. If it is indeed a pilot, it didn't sound super exciting.

Man looking back on it, even with the Crucible shit, this might be the most forgettable season of CHIKARA ever.
Like so many people joined the roster and left, so many storylines went nowhere, and so much shit felt like it was never resolved or just went on to the next thing. It was a mess, incredibly weak cards, barely travelled anywhere, barely got a blip of notice from anyone with how the Indie Scene is growing just this year... like I haven't remembered a CHIKARA season that's felt this flat since 2004 and they were a baby company then and barely had anything established, they had an excuse then, and then 2005-2006 were years they really started to develop a strong brand into 2007-2014 which are definitely considered the best years of the company by many.
I'm worried about CHIKARA. I've been a fan of theirs for a long time, they were actually stationed very close to me so I went to a lot of shows in like 2010-2012. It's just... it sucks to see how wrong everything went, worst case scenarios, talent leaving and never looking back, everything coming apart at the seams. I always tried to keep hope for a quick turnaround but... I really don't think it's coming. I think CHIKARA was a big moment in time for Indie Wrestling, but time is beginning to pass it by.
Can they turn it around? Can something happen? I don't know, but it needs to happen fast, or I think they're screwed, as it stands, I really don't know if they'll ever be back to what they were in 2012, but I really wish I could see something, anything, of them at least trying. From a company that had so much will and determination to be the little engine that could, it is just stalling on the tracks at this point.

It does feel like Chikara is winding down in a way. It seems like Quack has an endgame idea for it, and it feels like he's quickly approaching it. The problem is, he doesn't have the pieces that he wishes he had to finish it out. In a just world, we'd see guys like Claudio, Hero, Kingston, coming back to tie up the loose ends. But the fact that wrestling has suddenly gotten hotter, and Quack's ability to drive off certain people due to how he runs things, have shorten the resources he has. Him grabbing a guy who only had a few matches with Chikara a few years back as his secret weapon against the Crucible kinda speaks to that. It's disappointing, because Once Upon A Beginning was such a hot and fun show to attend, and I was hoping this season would continue that, but it feels like a lot of it fizzled out. I have to watch the whole season to get a feel for it sometime.
BTW, does anyone know the story with Mr. Touchdown and why he left? I know that it can be seen that his story could have wrapped up with the ladder match between him and Dasher at Once Upon A Beginning, but I still thought there would be more about him and the Hatfields. I was surprised when they officially moved him to the Alumni section, and I haven't been following the fallout that closely this season.

the Chikara Results page updated with results from the mystery show. looks like most of the jobbers were named after 80s WWF jobbers. maybe that is a hint at this being a pilot for a weekly show.

So Quack left his wrist gauntlet in the ring after winning his match with Tyler Bate this past friday.
