I think he and some others are shocked LFC's actually here on the Boards to discuss things with. On the nose. It's great to be able to talk to some of the peeps that worked at a promotion I enjoy. Granted, the only ones I've seen on here are Razerhawk (CAW CAW!!) and now LFC.

I discovered Chikara at just the right time in my life. I really needed something to help me emotionally out of a bad spot, and it's a big reason I got through that period. I'll always be loyal to Chikara for that. Having said that though...
When I first started watching (2010), the company felt like a family that all really pulled together for whatever was best for the whole, not the individual. I don't get that same vibe anymore. It doesn't help that I don't live near PA, so I haven't been able to go to a live show since the last time they were in NC.
I'll still support it over any other promotion (big or small) that's out there, but it would be nice to have some of that old magic back.

Could you expand on that point and why you think it's going towards the best for the individual?

Super Secret Science Work? My god. LFC is helping develop a button that will make it SNOW AT THE BEACH!! My kudos to those who actually get that reference.

I'll give it a try, but I'm probably not very good at getting my point across in this regard. Keep in mind, it's just something "I" feel when watching the company. Everyone's mileage will vary. When I first started watching, it seemed as though the wrestlers had a way of making you feel like they were in Chikara because it was THE place to be. They made everything seem important. The comedy bits had a communal feel to them. Storylines seemed to involve as much of the roster as possible. The camaraderie was very present in the commentary team, no matter who was pared up. I know things have changed. The bigger promotions have hired a lot of people, and perhaps wrestlers who once felt they would always be regulated to the indies now have eyes set on bigger things. The indy scene itself has grown a great deal. There are more companies to wrestle for. Even still, I don't think I could've imagined a day when Ultramantis Black would be wrestling in various companies, excluding Chikara. For the ones there, in many ways it feels like another day on the job. Again, I'm sure there's a lot of reason for that if it is, in fact, the case. The thing is, I love Chikara. I love it's comic book sensibilities. I love outrageous gimmicks, especially ones that play off of the superhero/supervillian/monster archetypes. I still think Papa Shango is one of the greatest wrestling gimmicks of all time, so that should tell you what you need to know about my tastes. It just feels (again, perhaps to just me) that maybe there isn't as many (enough?) people involved that want the (a?) promotion to succeed on that reason alone. I guess maybe what I'm trying to say is this: I'd give anything to be able to work for a wresting company that's mission statement is to provide entertainment based in the realm of sci-fi/horror/fantasy. It was always a dream of mine, but frankly I never thought it would work, not to mention that my life never lent itself to the opportunity. It feels like Chikara needs a lot of younger "me" working for it. My 2 cents... and only because someone asked.

I JUST realized that Tony Deppen is gone from the roster page too So much for NEW FIST, christ Deppen'll be fine, I wouldn't be shocked if AEW looks at him. He's on the fast rise and I'm pulling for him, he came from my local Indies.

That doesn't entirely shock me since she's getting shine in NWA now, might be a bigger opportunity for her That aside, yet again, more stars CHIKARA has invested in and told us to invest in and poof, gone. It's getting real old, real fast.

Meh, oceanea was barely ever around. Last two years she would disappear from May until September.
But yeah they were both taken off after the finale. Along with others.

I'm surprised at Deppen being pulled off the roster, being in FIST and all, but dude has been everywhere this year, it's not a huge shock that he just might not have time for committing to Chikara. And he's gonna get signed by a big fed sooner rather than later.

Especially considering I'm pretty sure WiF is booked by someone else and not Quack unless that has changed.

So, I know we tend to focus on the negatives lately (myself included), so I wanted to focus on something positive.
Currently, Dasher Hatfield and Boomer Hatfield's lucha de apuestas match at Scotch Mist is currently nominated for Match of the Year on IWTV's 2019 Independent Wrestling Awards.
And this is a write in competition. So enough fans thought the match was good enough that it got nominated over literally hundreds of other possible matches.
So a pat on the back to the Hatfield lads, and to Chikara as a whole. It may not be in the place it was a decade ago, but it's not as forgotten as we sometimes think it is.
