Just wanted to detail what an incredible experience attending this show with my girlfriend was: Just one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Been a Fan since ‘98 and never went to a WWE show (just Lucha and new japan)..and I’m kinda glad. This was an incredible way to break my cherry.
Also wanted to detail a cool little story: Before DON I won a $100 of a slot machine, so the Girlfriend and I decide to buy tickets to the After-Party thing. It’s chill. But I never wanna bother peeps so I just sat in the back and watched. I did tell Willie Mack how he was an incredible live performer to which he responded “At least somebody f*** with my shit”. Anyway, I’m chilling and turn around and Cody comes out by himself and we just look at each other and he looks down to keep incognito and I don’t say anything..
So my girlfriend and I leave shortly after smoking a bit with Willi and go about the strip. I tell her the only thing I regretted was not saying thank you to Cody. After an hour or two, We end up back and I decide to buy a pack of smokes. Just as we’re walking in, Cody is walking out. I’m wearing his shirt and he sees me first and really coyly points to my shirt as we laughed and I just quickly made the effort to say Thank you and he took the time to show my girlfriend and I attention and wish us a wonderful night. Just an incredible cherry to cap off a hell of a night.

Was there in his capacity as one of the hosts of Busted Open on SiriusXM. I saw that on his microphone on the Cody video but it was still weird as hell to see. It's so weird, I thought it might be a different Mark Henry, considering how he was all rah-rahing the WWE just last month. And it was a great question too. One that got serious attention from one tweet, and may bring in even more people who may not be fans of wrestling or have lapsed. This reality is wild, guys.

It appears the The Super Smash Bros will be going by a new name in AEW due to Nintendo owning the name.

I think that eventually, it's going to become normal where it isn't a binary thing where "You either support 1 (AEW) or You support Zero (WWE)". People aren't binary data, no matter how much social media tries to get us to act otherwise.

I've had an extra day to process it all.
I can remember all the times I was crazy excited to go to a show. As a kid, the first house shows and TV for WWE/WCW that I went to...Making a 4-hour drive to Minneapolis for my first ROH show as a 16-year-old...Going to my first Wrestlemania (24) for my graduation gift. Hundreds upon hundreds of shows that I've traveled to attend. Many great ones, and some even really bad.
Wrestling has been a big part of my life. For a time, it felt like it was all I had growing up. That thankfully has changed as I've grown older and am able to enjoy the shows with my wife and family.
Saturday night was the best overall experience of any show that I have ever gone to. I can't stop thinking about it, the amount of fun that we had, and the feeling that I left the MGM Grand with that night. It felt special and it lived up to every expectation. Dustin/Cody got me to feel the live emotional connection to a match that only one other one had ever done before. That being Michaels/Taker at WM25. The Young Bucks/Lucha Bros had my wife out of her seat screaming in excitement. The main event was good, but the Moxley run in at the end was among the loudest pops I've ever heard. Everything about the show was just perfect in regards to a live experience.
I sure as hell lost on every slot machine and gambling game this past weekend...but I won everything when it came to this show.

Yeah, I was in the crowd and it took me a long ass time to figure out who they were (once I got a look at the names of the back of their gear), because my head vision of the SSB is the old face version in some Chikara clips on YouTube. And as soon I did finally remember that they had turned evil, I thought of how off-putting it was that these monsters are called Player Uno and Dos, and are named after the Nintendo mascot fighting game. AEW is a fresh start for them, particularly in the States, so this is the time to do any key alterations in their persona.

I knew Uno because I've seen him posting more on his FB videos of him in his feds, so I recognized the Evil Uno mask and his gear. Stu I haven't seen in a while, so it took me a second to recognize him. I am thrilled they're a part of this, now. They absolutely deserve this.

I just watched the pre-show stuff (not that invested to be looking at PPVs currently) I know nothing about most of these wrestlers except the nostalgia acts like Dreamer, Glacier & Billy gunn.
Liked the set, like the commentators even if they went oddly silent during bits of the battle royale and need to explain stuff to new viewers a bit more. Backstage skits were fine as were the video hype parts. As for the matches:
Battle Royale Got to say despite some cool moments, (Glacier ice mist, the suave guy, Luchasaurus gimmick, the heel MJF who was eliminated last and that table bump) I wasn't really impressed. Mainly because there was a hell of a lot of wrestlers just sitting about in the ring waiting about. Honestly made it look a bit crap. I'm all for showing the occasionaly spot but it lacked wrestlers actually continually fighting and ruined the illusion.
Not a fan of wrestlers hitting big moves only for them to be ignored, no sold or not be relevant. Also the Luchasuarus guy is a big threat so why is he selling so much?
As for anything else, not sure what the scrawny kid was doing in there, the fat guy was wasted, the camera zoomed away when what looked like a tag team did a fancy move, multi person intros were not useful and Hangman Page seems kind of bland and didn't give me a "new viewer" a reason to care about him.
Sabin vs Guevara
I like a cruiserweight match. This was just two guys hitting a move & posing, then hitting a move & posing. Zero flow or story telling just a spotfest and I didn't care about it.
So yeah as a first time watcher and being out of watching wrestling in years. The thought that this might lure me back in has diminished quite a lot. Pre-shows are important for the casual fan and this didn't make me want to get the PPV.

Seems to be the biggest complaint of the PPV.Personally i would have made the SCU vs Stronghearts the pre-show, a good match that is interesting but at the end of the day, nothing that is a big selling point

Got the Bucks vs Lucha Bros match watched.
Not a fan of the Bucks. I get why they got huge. They are just not for me. This is the best match I have seen from them.
But even with it being the best Bucks match I have seen, and I have been seeing them on shows since 2008,I still think the Dustin vs Cody match was the match of the night. I would put the bucks vs lucha bros below Best Friends vs Jack and Angelico and SCU vs Stronghearts.
