I cant remember the last time I watched a movie at home and this is not coming out in cinemas here.
But any wrestling movie is welcome here IMO.

I saw it last night. I really enjoyed it. The bits set in the UK are very realistic to what it's actually like in the UK. More so than most movies.

Biopics aren’t really warts and all stories these days. They also don’t really seem to be meant for diehard fans who already know the story. The Biggie, Straight Out of Compton, 2Pac, Queen, and a couple others I have seen the last decade were cool movies, but didn’t teach me anything new. They used a lot of dramatization and left out A LOT. That is what I am expecting from this. I will treat it as a fun little wrestling movie, not the definitive story of Paige.

Aside from Fake Pete Dunne and “AJ”, any other wacky cameos from wrestlers playing themselves or played by actors ? Big Show makes a cameo as himself according to Wiki.

I have a screening of it tonight. I always hate going to wrestling movies. Since I'm actually a fan, I fear being embarrassed by what is on screen. Hopefully the positive reviews are accurate. Guess, I'll find out tonight.

Guess, I'll find out tonight. From what I've heard, it takes the wrestling part seriously and doesn't treat it as a farce.

I'm trying to think of how to explain this... When I see an ad for the movie on WWE TV I groan because it looks shitty and desperate/pandering. When I see an ad for the movie outside of WWE TV it looks fairly good and I want to see it. Basically from my point of the view the WWE Machine is actively worse than the "standard marketing" It is. Takes me back to the days of Vince promoting La Femme Nikita and Silk Stalkings.

I went to a screening of the movie last night and quite honestly it was better than I expected. You dont have to be a wrestling fan to get the story, in fact I was quite happy to hear my fellow patrons who weren't wrestling fans getting into it and understanding on some basic level.
I will say you'll want to turn your wrestling brain off a bit as they took a few liberties with the story and timelines, glossed over some things, etc. You'll definitely find yourself trying to figure out if any of the characters in the NXT portions are just sort of generic composites, or loosely based on people there at the time, I decided generic composites.
All in all I'd say its worth a look for sure!

Spoiler, she turns on The Rock and beats him for her first World Title in her very first match!

Aside from Fake Pete Dunne and “AJ”, any other wacky cameos from wrestlers playing themselves or played by actors ? The other female wrestlers in NXT wear outfits of Alexa, Eve, and Carmella not really much in the line of making it seem like them particularly.

For those who have seen it does it talk about the incident with her Mum and Cheerleader Melissa and how she had her kneecap sliced off and had to learn to walk again? (Or how she went blind for weeks after an injury?)
I love Paige, but I love her Mum even more. She's a fantastic performer and I still cannot believe they didn't sign her to feud with Paige. Huge money left on the table.

It's best to really, really leave your wrestling brain aside for this movie, as it is in itself a decent movie about fighting for your dream and trying to live up to your family.

Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with 91%, making it the first WWE Studios film about wrestling (but not featuring any wrestlers in a lead role) to get this distinction.

Saw it today and really enjoyed it. Was surprised by how emotional it ended up being. The actors playing Paige and Zak did great jobs.
An aspect I really liked was how it handled the other women that Paige was in NXT with. They played up the expectations that are even voiced in the film that they're just models who were hired for their bodies or who were fame seekers, but we see the women are working hard and busting their asses and making their own sacrifices. They could have been very 1 dimensional, but had a lot more depth than you'd expect.

Sweet Saraya has had a fascinating career!
