And the final game of tonight.
Los Angeles Stars @ Columbus Chill
And not wanting to deviate too much from the other two games, this one was also a one-sided affair. However, unlike the other two, the home team was the one dominating this time. It was a strange affair, as there were no turnovers by either team. The Chill hopped out to a 20-0 lead at the half, and never looked back. The Stars scored late to end the shutout, but it was all for naught.

And now we start the 2nd Half of Week 8!
Dakota Dynamo @ New Jersey Crusaders
Finally, a close game for this week. The first half was a back and forth battle. New Jersey would not find the endzone, but was able to get 3 field goals, while Dakota would get two touchdowns, talking a 14-9 lead into the half.
But the second half was all New Jersey, as they go on a 22-0 run to lead 31-14 with just under 4 minutes left. Dakota gets a late touchdown, but can't stop the Crusaders to get the ball back. And New Jersey runs the clock out.

And our second game of the night commences!
Missoula Renegades @ Bluegrass Bears
Another tough battle, as both teams look to stay in the playoff hunt. Bluegrass strikes first, leading 7-0 after one. But Missoula gets a pair of scores in the 2nd, and lead at the half, 10-7. Bluegrass ties it up halfway through the third, but Missoula gets another score late in the third, going up 17-10 after 3. Late in the 4th, Bluegrass marches downfield, and gets into the endzone to tie it up, 17-17, with less than 2 minutes to go. Missoula tries to respond, but they're PICKED OFF, and Bluegrass runs it back 43 yards for a pick 6!! Missoula tries to respond, but are stopped on 4th down. Bluegrass runs out the clock to get the much needed win!

And now for the final game of Week 8!
Shadizar Spiders @ Las Vegas Cardsharks
A very tough defensive battle. Las Vegas settled for 3 field goals in the first half, while Shadizar had a touchdown and a field goal, taking the lead into halftime, 10-9. After a scoreless third quarter, Las Vegas took the lead with a field goal and a touchdown, going up 19-10. Shadizar would add a field goal to cut the lead to 6. After a punt, the Spiders looked to move down field, and as they got deep into Cardsharks territory, the Sharks got a pick, and ran it back 69 yards for a pick 6 for the dagger!

I also have an idea for next season.
Instead of rosters with random generated players, I thought about assigning players to teams that are based in or near where they went to college.
For example, the Dakota Dynamo would get players from Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota colleges mainly. And if there are guys from colleges in the Dakotas.

Another couple weeks off. Sorry, it's been a little busy for me.
But I plan on starting Week 9 this weekend, and we'll begin the last quarter of the Inaugural Season.
Here are the Week 9 Matchups:
Redmond Plumbers at Tea Wasters United
Las Vegas Cardsharks at Columbus Chill
Butte Holes at New Jersey Crusaders
Los Angeles Stars at Bluegrass Bears
West Virginia Woodcutters at Dakota Dynamo
Shadizar Spiders at Missoula Renegades
Right now, it's hard to determine who sits where come the playoffs, as there are 3 teams sitting at 4-4 (Bluegrass, Columbus, Butte), 4 teams sitting at 3-5 (Dakota, LA, Missoula, and Tea Wasters), and 1 team at 2-6 (Shadizar). But even at 2-6, Shadizar still has a shot at the playoffs. But they are pretty much in a win-out situation needed.

Welcome to Week 9 of FAN Football!! We are three quarters of the way through the season, and tonight, we start off with two matchups!
Redmond Plumbers @ Tea Wasters United
The United start off strong, hitting a 70-yard TD pass on the opening drive. First play for Redmond, the United pick it off! They add 3 to the lead, going up 10-0 after one. Redmond adds a pair of field goals late in the 2nd, and at the half, the United lead, 13-6.
The United strike first again, opening the 3rd with another deep strike, a 62-yard TD pass, going up 20-6. The Plumbers respond, putting up another 3 points. They get it back after an interception, but can only get three points again, now down 20-12 after 3. The United strike first in the fourth, getting a field goal, now up 23-12. The Plumbers get it back later after a fumble, and nail a 32-yard TD strike. They go for two and get it, now down 23-20. The Plumbers get it right back after an interception, but can only get 3 on the board, and we're tied 23-23 late! The United strike again, as they hit another deep strike for a 62-yard TD pass, going up 30-23. Both teams punt one more time, and the Plumbers try to come back, but they fumble on a sack, and the clock runs out!

Butte is able to get it back after a punt, and march quickly downfield, converting a crucial 4th and 10 during the drive. And now for game 2 of the night!
Los Angeles Stars @ Bluegrass Bears
This was all Bears from the word go. They jumped out to a 24-0 lead in the first half, before LA finally got on the board with a long touchdown pass. After a punt, the Stars tried to get another big play, but it's picked off, and the Bears run it back 58 yards for a pick six, leading 31-7 at the half.
The second half doesn't fare any better for the Stars, but they hold the Bears to 7 points in the third, and 3 early in the fourth, but still trail, 41-7. The Stars start to move the ball, but are picked off again, and the Bears take over. The drive stalls, and the Bears pick up another 3. After getting the ball back again, the Bears run out the clock to end this slaughter.
Bluegrass Bears 44 Los Angeles Stars 7
A tale of two different QBs. Bears QB Davian Bass went 20/27 for 411 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs. Stars QB Quadre Armstrong went 11/32 for 162 yards, 1 TD, 3 INTs.

And here we go, with the final 2 matchups for Week 9!
West Virginia Woodcutters @ Dakota Dynamo
The first quarter is a defensive, scoreless struggle. It finally opens up in the 2nd, as Dakota is on the board first with a 3-yard TD Pass. The Dynamo Defense continues to pour it on, getting the ball back for the offense after a stop. They march, but can only get three. They stop the Woodcutters again, getting another 3 right before the end of the half, leading 13-0.
In the third quarter, West Virginia finally gets on the board, but only for 3 points. That is the only score in the third, and the Dynamo lead 13-3 after 3. The fourth quarter is another defensive struggle, with the Woodcutters getting a field goal, pulling within 7. But two more field goals and a late interception seal the win for the Dynamo.

Redmond Plumbers @ Columbus Chill
A low scoring affair, as Redmond kicks two field goals in the first to go up 6-0 after one. The Chill respond with a field goal of their own early on in the second, down 6-3. Most of the second quarter is a defensive struggle, until the Chill nail a pass deep for a 66-yard Touchdown!! The Plumbers move quickly into Chill territory, but Columbus gets a pick! They march down field, and get another field goal late to go up 13-6 at the half.
The second half is another defensive struggle, as the only points scored in the third are a field goal by the Plumbers, now down 13-9 after 3. With six minutes left, Columbus kicks another field goal to go up by 7 again. It’s another defensive struggle, as Columbus nails another field goal to go up 19-9. Redmond gets back on the board, but only gets another field goal, now down 7 again late. They get the ball back late, and march, but on 4th and 10, the pass falls incomplete, and the Chill survive.

Butte Holes 30 Shadizar Spiders 7
Bluegrass Bears @ Dakota Dynamo
The Dynamo started out strong, putting up 14 points in the first quarter, 7 after an interception. The Bears slowly battled back into contention, putting up 3 field goals in the second quarter, and at the half, trailed the Dynamo, 14-9.
The third quarter started off with a bang, as the Bears took the opening kickoff, and ran it back 98 yards for a touchdown! They went for two and got it, now leading 17-14. The Dynamo would strike back again, getting another touchdown late in the third, going up 21-17. The Bears marched down field, and halfway through the fourth, looked to take the lead, but were stopped on 4th and goal. The Dynamo marched down field again, and with just under two minutes to go, put up a 52 yard field goal to go up by 7. The Bears marched quickly, and with just over a minute left, they scored a 26-yard TD pass to tie it up! The Dynamo eats most of the clock left, and we head to OVERTIME!! The Dynamo try to end it early, but the Bears pick them off in the endzone! After a couple punts, the Bears hit a receiver deep, and set up for the game winning field goal, which is good!
Bluegrass Bears 27 Dakota Dynamo 24
New Jersey Crusaders @ Las Vegas Cardsharks
A battle of the current division leaders, and a possible FAN Bowl preview. Las Vegas strikes first with a 1 yard TD drive after a long run during the drive. New Jersey responds with a 2 yard TD run of their own. After a punt, the Crusaders march down field, and get a field goal to go up 10-7 after one. After a couple punts, the Cardsharks march down field, and get it in the endzone with a little over 3 ½ minutes to play, going up 24-23! New Jersey goes for 2, and gets it, now up 31-24. The Cardsharks quickly move down field, and with 26 seconds left, they hit a game-tying touchdown pass!! New Jersey runs out the clock, and we head to OVERTIME!! In overtime, the Crusaders start off with the ball, but they stall, and punt it to Las Vegas. Vegas marches downfield, but on 2nd down, within field goal range, they go for a touchdown, but are intercepted in the endzone!! The Crusaders take advantage, going downfield on a long drive, and hitting a field goal when they have the chance!
New Jersey Crusaders 34 Las Vegas Cardsharks 31
Tea Wasters United @ Los Angeles Stars
The United struck first halfway through the first with an 8-yard TD run, going up 7-0 after one. The Stars would respond early in the second with a field goal, now down 7-3. The Stars defense would then come up with a big interception, looking to change the momentum. But the drive stalled, and they punted it back. After a few punts, the Stars would hit a 56-yard TD pass, going up 10-7 late. The United marched quickly down field, but another late interception killed the drive, and the Stars led at the half.
Early in the 3rd, the Stars would break it open, hitting a 68-yard TD pass, going up 17-7. After a pick, the United would march down field, but only get 3 to start the fourth, now down 17-10. And welcome back to FAN Football!! After another couple weeks off, we are at Week 11, and the Playoff Race is tight. Any slip up here could mean playing in the Playoffs for the FAN Bowl, or playing for the Tank Bowl.
Los Angeles Stars @ Shadizar Spiders
This one was all Spiders. They picked off the Stars early, and ran it back for a pick six, going up 7-0. The Stars got on the board with a field goal, and after one, it was 7-3. The second quarter was another defensive struggle, until the Spiders forced a fumble late, and ran it back 56 yards for a touchdown! At the half, Shadizar leads, 14-3.
The Spiders opened the second half with a long drive ending in a touchdown, going up 21-3. Late in the third, though, the Stars would get a defensive score, as they run back a 48-yard pick six. After three, it was 21-10. But the Spiders were too much, putting up 14 more points in the fourth, and sealing the deal for the Stars.
Shadizar Spiders 35 Los Angeles Stars 10
Columbus Chill @ Dakota Dynamo
The first quarter is a defensive struggle, as both teams move the ball, but can’t seem to get into the endzone. But late in the first, the Chill strike first, getting a 5-yard TD pass, going up 7-0 after one. The second is the same as the first, but the Chill score with just over 4 minutes left in the half, going up 14-0. Dakota comes back, but can only get 3, now down 14-3 with just over a minute to go. Columbus goes for the dagger, hitting an 80-yard TD pass on their first play of the drive!! The Chill now lead 21-3!! The Dynamo move quickly, but can only get three in the final seconds, trailing at the half, 21-6.
The Dynamo get the ball to start the second half and move down field, ending the drive with a 2 yard TD run! The rest of the third is another defensive struggle, and the third ends with the score 21-13 in favor of the Chill. The fourth quarter starts with the Chill hitting a 29-yard TD pass, going up 28-13! The Dynamo respond hitting a quick slant on 3rd down, and the receiver goes 75 yards for the touchdown!! The Dynamo get it back after stopping the Chill drive, and they march. But the drive stalls, and they go for it on 4th and 3, and get it!! Right after that, the Dynamo punch it in from 7 yards out!! They go for 2, and get it, and the game is tied 28-28!! The Chill are moving downfield again, but right at midfield, the Dynamo get a pick!! The defender finds an opening and runs it back 49 yards for a pick six!! The Dynamo lead for the first time, 35-28!! The Chill move quickly, but are stuffed on 4th and 3 late in Dynamo territory! The Dynamo make the Chill burn their timeouts, and the unlikely comeback is complete!!
Dakota Dynamo 35 Columbus Chill 28
New Jersey Crusaders @ Redmond Plumbers
This one was a clash of the Titans. Redmond struck first, going up two scores early, one after a fumble recovery. After one, it was 14-0 Plumbers. New Jersey fought their way back in the second quarter with 14 unanswered to tie up the game. Redmond kicked a field goal late, going up 17-14. New Jersey tried to answer, but was picked off! With under 30 seconds left, Redmond got in the endzone again, going up 24-14 at the half.
The third quarter is another defensive struggle, but both teams are able to get on the board with touchdowns, as the score going into the fourth quarter is 31-21 Plumbers. With just under 7 minutes left, New Jersey gets another field goal, now down 31-24. After a few stops, New Jersey marches again, but can only get 3 again, now down 31-27 with 1:52 to go. They get Redmond to go 3 and out, burning all their timeouts, and get the ball back. The Crusaders go for the home run ball, and get it!! A 59-yard TD pass, and the Crusaders lead 34-31!! The Plumbers move quickly, but burn their timeouts on the drive, and kick a field goal to force OVERTIME!! The Crusaders get the ball to start OT. On 2nd and 4, they go for another Home Run pass, AND THEY GET IT!!! A SEVENTY FOUR YARD TOUCHDOWN PASS!!! The Crusaders win the East Division Crown!!
New Jersey Crusaders 40 Redmond Plumbers 34
Tea Wasters United @ Missoula Renegades
The United started out strong, getting a touchdown and a field goal early to go up 10-0. However, after that, it was all Renegades. Missoula proceeded to shut out the United after that and scored 30 unanswered points to keep their playoff hopes alive while pretty much secured a spot in the Tank Bowl playoffs for the United.
Missoula Renegades 30 Tea Wasters United 10
Bluegrass Bears @ Butte Holes
A very intense defensive struggle, as the Bears put 3 on the board in the first. Butte responds at the beginning of the second with a field goal, tying it up 3-3. After another tough defensive battle, the Bears find the endzone on a 9-yard QB run, going up 10-3 with less than a minute to go. The Holes move quickly downfield, but only get 3 as time expires, and the Bears lead at the half, 10-6.
The third quarter was another defensive struggle, with only 3 points added by Butte, putting the score at 10-9 after 3. In the fourth quarter, everything unraveled for the Bears, as an interception proved costly, leading to another 3 points by Butte. Right after that, another interception by the Holes led to another 3 points, and Butte leads, 15-10. The Bears tried to rally, but a deep pass wound up as another interception, as Butte closed the door on the Bears.
Butte Holes 15 Bluegrass Bears 10
West Virginia Woodcutters @ Las Vegas Cardsharks
Once again, another defensive struggle in the first, as Las Vegas puts the only points up with a field goal. In the second, West Virginia puts up 13 points off of a touchdown and two field goals, one field goal late in the half after a well timed interception. At the half, West Virginia leads, 13-3.
In the third, it’s another defensive struggle, until West Virginia puts up a touchdown with only seconds left, going up 20-3. Late in the fourth, Las Vegas finds the endzone with a 16 yard TD pass. But the Woodcutters add 3 more points after an onside kick attempt, going up 23-10. With a little over a minute left, the Cardsharks find the endzone again, now down 23-17. They try an onside kick, but the Woodcutters recover, picking up a hard fought win.

Here's how the standings look with one week to go. East | W-L | New Jersey Crusaders
| 8-3
| West Virginia Woodcutters
| 6-5 | Bluegrass Bears
| 6-5 | Columbus Chill
| 5-6 | Tea Wasters United
| 4-7 | Shadizar Spiders
| 3-8 |
West | W-L | Las Vegas Cardsharks
| 7-4 | Missoula Renegades
| 6-5 | Redmond Plumbers
| 6-5 | Butte Holes
| 6-5 | Dakota Dynamo
| 5-6 | Los Angeles Stars
| 4-7 |
Las Vegas has pretty much clinched a playoff spot with their record. It's just a matter of if they win the division. Basically if they win next week, they get the West and the 2-seed.
New Jersey has clinched the East Division Regular Season Crown, as well as the 1-seed.

Tonight, we have the final week of regular season action. Who makes the playoffs for the FAN Bowl?! And who makes it to the Tank Bowl?
West Virginia Woodcutters @ Tea Wasters United
A defensive struggle, as the Woodcutters hit 3 field goals in the first and second to take a 9-0 lead. Late in the first half, the United nail a 33-yard TD pass, and go into halftime down 9-7. The third quarter is another defensive struggle, as neither team score, including a missed field goal by the Woodcutters. But early in the fourth, the United find the endzone again, taking the lead with just over 8 minutes to play. They go for two, but don’t get it, now up 13-9. The Woodcutters try to respond, but punt it back. The United get it back and kick another field goal to go up 16-9. Late in the game, the Woodcutters get it back after a punt, but it’s picked off!! And that seals it for the United.

Columbus Chill @ New Jersey Crusaders
In a must-win game for the Chill, they come out strong, going up 10-0 after one quarter. But the Crusaders come right back, scoring 17 unanswered in the 2nd, going up 17-10 at the half. The 3rd quarter was a defensive struggle, until with just over 2 minutes left, the Chill nail a short TD pass to tie it up. The Crusaders strike quickly, but make a crucial mistake, as the Chill get an interception, and run it back 90 yards for a pick six! Early in the fourth, after a New Jersey Punt, the Chill march down field and kick a field goal, going up 27-17. But right after that, the Crusaders nail an 85-yard TD pass, now down 27-24. It’s a defensive struggle to the end, and the Chill hold on!

Bluegrass Bears @ Shadizar Spiders
The first quarter is another defensive struggle, as the only points scored is a 74-yard TD pass by the Spiders. The Bears respond midway through the second, but only get a field goal, now down 7-3. But the Bears get another chance, and get it into the endzone, going up 10-7. But the Spiders come back, and get a touchdown late, going up 14-10 at the half. The Spiders strike quickly and get another touchdown to start the third, going up 21-10. The Bears respond, but can only muster a field goal after a long drive, now down 21-13. The Spiders strike again after a quick drive, scoring another touchdown late, going up 28-13 after 3. The fourth quarter is another defensive struggle, until the Bears score late with a 12-yard TD pass, now down 28-20. They kick it deep, hoping to stop the Spiders with all 3 timeouts left. Unfortunately, the Spiders get a first down, and the Bears are forced to burn all 3 timeouts.

Missoula Renegades @ Redmond Plumbers
Redmond dominated this one, jumping out to a 17-0 after one half of play. The third quarter was a defensive struggle, with both teams only adding 3 points to the scoreboard each, with the score 20-3 after 3. After another Plumbers field goal, the Renegades finally get in the endzone, now down 23-10. But they could not gain any more traction, and the Plumbers added two more field goals to seal it.

Dakota Dynamo @ Butte Holes
Both teams get a touchdown to start the game in the first quarter, but after that, a defensive struggle holds both teams scoreless in the second, and we go to the half tied 7-7. Butte starts the third with a screen on 2nd down, and goes 83 yards for a touchdown to lead 14-7. Dakota responds with an 80-yard TD pass on third down, tying up the game again at 14. Halfway through the 3rd, the Holes find the endzone again with a 39-yard TD pass. After 3, it’s 21-14 Butte. In the 4th, the Dynamo march down field, stalls, and can only get three, now down 21-17. The Dynamo get a quick pick, though, and the momentum has shifted. But they can only get another field goal, and are down 21-20. After a punt, the Dynamo look to get another score, but an interception at the 2-minute warning looks to be the dagger. But they stop Butte, getting a 3 and out, and get it back with about a minute and a half left. They march quickly downfield, and get a 21-yard TD pass with a minute left! They go for two and get it, now up 28-21! The Holes march quickly, but on 4th down on the Dynamo 7-yard line, the Holes QB takes a sack, and that’s all she wrote.

Las Vegas Cardsharks @ Los Angeles Stars
Another defensive battle to end the season, as both teams struggle to score. Las Vegas gets a field goal late in the second, and a touchdown late in the half to go into halftime up 10-0. They add another field goal in the fourth to go up 13-0, but the Stars march down field and finally get in the endzone late, now down 13-7. They try to stop the Cardsharks defensively, but the Cardsharks just eat up the clock to finish this one up.
