It only took him 5 years to get good. Nats gave up another young prospect in that trade didn’t they? Reynaldo Lopez? It did take him a while, but he was a top 10 prospect when they moved him for a veteran who wasn't a main piece of their roster. It turned out bad, but it could have/should have been much worse. All in all the Nats didn’t come out too bad in this tho they still should have traded Bryce

Troy Tulowitzki is retiring. Well damn I didn’t think asking about him yesterday would make him retire

Apparently the Giants have bought their own hype and are switching to buyers... they had a high-level scout at Matthew Boyd’s last start.
Still unbelievably short-sighted and stupid, if they give any of their top prospects.

On that note, apparently the Giants farm has vaulted into #15 on the Baseball America rankings. So they’ve done something right over the last few seasons!

Sounds like the odds of the Mets trading Syndergaard have gone up. Dodgers, Astros, Braves all mentioned.

Their never ending stock of top-tier prospects has to eventually run out, right? At this point I not only hate them because LA and RIVALS but they’re just so damn good. Great team. Great young talent. Always loaded farm. They’ve done it right.

Okay Cashmen enough is enough with your cheapness, get some pitching now. Why do we have to put up with this? Because you don't want to give up Clint Frazer, screw Frazer, get him out of town, if it will get them some pitching, enough is enough, the Yankees are too darn cheap.

The good news is that the Red Sox scored 7 runs in the first inning.
The bad news is between Porcello and the bullpen that may not be enough.

So, to reiterate the feces of the Yankee starting pitching lately:
Tanaka vs COL: 6 IP, 7 H, 5 ER, 5 runs in the 6th inning Paxton vs COL: 3.1 IP, 6 H, 7 R/4 ER Sabathia vs MIN: 4 IP, 7 R/6 ER German vs MIN: 3.2 IP, 9 H, 8 ER Happ vs MIN: 3.1 IP, 6 ER
And tonight, Tanaka gives up 7 runs in the first inning. The price for SP just went up a couple notches.

This game is the polar opposite in terms of the excitement of the twins games. Just bad calls and bad pitching.

When was the last time a Yankees starter had a quality start?

Embarrassing, That's all. The best part of this game is that it's finally over

The only chance Boston has of crawling back into the division race is to sweep this four-game series, so tonight was a strong start.

I can’t believe the Mets made that stupid trade for Cano/Diaz, and are already looking to move Diaz. They won’t even get the same quality of prospects they gave up for him. Hire an agent to run a baseball team, this is what you get.

Hire an agent to run a baseball team, this is what you get. They're only moving Diaz if someone overpays. I honestly want to keep him and I think they will too. WAY too early to give up on him. Mets apparently also want an MLB ready starter for Thor. Interestingly, one of the Braves top prospects (Cristian Pache who has killer defense and is having his best offensive season so far) is not in the lineup tonight for reasons unclear at the moment. I wonder if something like this could work Braves get: Noah Syndergaard Mets get: Cristian Pache (MLB.com #12 overall prospect) Ian Anderson (MLB.com # 24 overall prospect) Mike Foltynewicz William Contreras (MLB.com #6 Braves prospect) Would be a lot for Atlanta but an team within the division has to overpay.

Can't remember the last time the Mets won a trade in dominating fashion. Probably not since that RA Dickey/Syndergaard deal. Atlanta has been building very diligently, the Mets have been a tire fire, and Syndergaard while I've always loved his stuff, has had a pretty below-average year. To me it would be a giant upset if the Mets pulled off that kind of haul from a better FO. I'd imagine that the Twins would be the favorites to land him.
