Because not enough of us know enough about it from a scientific standpoint to comment on it without it devolving into politics.
Locked.

I never believed in Global Warming until I learned about it this year in my environmental biology class. I now realize that its not all hippie crap, but that there is some truth to it.

Usually, I give these threads a shot before it gets way out of hand, so its okay to pipe in your opinion about global warming, without getting political whatsoever like Jobber and Cadenzer had said.
Basically my two cents is that I believe it exists, but it was bound to happen. If it became to the point of worsening life on this planet...I think 1.21 Jigawatts of electricity is needed to go back in time to fix it before 1985 so that we all exist.

1.21 Jigawatts,1.21 Jigawatts! The only thing powerful enough to create that would be a bolt of lightning and we don't know when or where that will occur

Here is a quote by Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson:
A Range Rover, doing 10,000 miles a year, produces less pollution a day then a cow farting(While discussing about "Methane as a global warming agent")
So heres the solution to Global Warming: Get the cows on Mylanta. Problem solved.

I'm with Dorf: no reason that this has to turn political. This is a scientific topic, not a political one. That said: Global warming is a sham. Plain and simple. No posts like this, please. Please be considerate and back up all assertions.

We have only been recording temperatures for a relatively short span in history. So far the computer models have not proven to be entirely correct, we know we are emitting CO2 but Volcanoes emit more, and the ages where more volcanoes hit things actually got colder. We cannot be so sure that it is our CO2 emissions or if it's just a natural cycle.
So far the Climatologists are not in agreement, and there are reasonable arguments for both sides. However I remain skeptical as global warming hasn't proven itself to be a fact, there is still much left to doubt in my mind.

I believe that it is fact. A report by a large group of UN scientists a couple of months ago concluded that there is a 99% chance that mankind is contributing significantly to global warming.
For the most part, the people saying that it isn't fact are (ommited to keep this from being a political conversation).

My two cents are this...
I've lived in Kansas my whole life...and the weather is generally crazy here...but when I was growing up, we had seasons.
We don't have seasons anymore. Or at least two of them have been completely eliminated, and we get unseasonable temps back and forth ALL the time. And this has all pretty much started happening within the past 5 years. Summers are WAY hotter, winters are WAY colder.
Somehow this just doesn't seem right to me.
I think global warming exists, but that's me.

I believe that it is fact. A report by a large group of UN scientists a couple of months ago concluded that there is a 99% chance that mankind is contributing significantly to global warming. If you are refering to the IPCC report they didn't say that. They said there was 99% certainty the temperature would go up rougly 2 degrees . epw.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=PressRoom.Blogs&ContentRecord_id=7E60E3FA-802A-23AD-4291-E3975CBB96CBI believe you'll find that particularly enlightening. It should also be noted that we believe Mars is having it's own global warming problems. Maybe it's the sun?
