was going to say like Gail Kim, or Maria ... because I was thinking of people that actually had some success but think they are way bigger deals then they actually are... but yeah since he was brought up Brimfield Brimstone. <iframe width="23.9400000000001" height="4.59999999999999" id="MoatPxIOPT0_59736336" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 15px; top: -5px; width: 23.94px; height: 4.6px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> <iframe width="23.9400000000001" height="4.59999999999999" id="MoatPxIOPT0_84684557" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 1137px; top: -5px; width: 23.94px; height: 4.6px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> <iframe width="23.9400000000001" height="4.59999999999999" id="MoatPxIOPT0_84636728" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 15px; top: 170px; width: 23.94px; height: 4.6px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> <iframe width="23.9400000000001" height="4.59999999999999" id="MoatPxIOPT0_19330546" scrolling="no" style="border-style: none; left: 1137px; top: 170px; width: 23.94px; height: 4.6px; position: absolute; z-index: -9999;"></iframe> What did Maria ever say or do? I have never heard anything negative about her and she always seems very down to earth in interviews. I met her after a ROH show a few years ago and she couldn't have been any sweeter. While Taven and Bennett stood in the background like some awkward third wheels lol when she first left the WWE she had a massive ego and greatly overstated her importance in the WWE she was talking like she was one of the key women in the WWE when... she really never was.... ESPECIALLY in the ring like she was claiming. Her biggest contribution was the Ditzy backstage interviewer... when she stopped that got serious and started wrestling she was never really that over. She also pretty much trashed the entire female locker room in shoots.

Ryback was the first one who came to mind for me, but there's plenty of deserving candidates listed here.

Vito. I interviewed him once and was shocked at how huge his ego was. He said that his dress gimmick was one of the most loved angles by the fans and he was campaigning for WWE to hire him, Guido and Johnny the Bull to reunite the FBI. He was sure it would be huge for WWE and claimed fans were asking him to come back all the time. This was in like 2011. Those people were most likely just being polite. I couldn’t tell you the biggest. I’m not sure I can chalk this up to ego or not but it was strange. I went to a show and there was the typical set up where they had a few gimmick tables and people were out signing and selling stuff. Mike Sydal was standing there looking at us and smiling and kept introducing himself as “I’m a Sydal” and then he’d nod his head as if to let us know it was true or that made him special. Everyone that passed by got the “I’m a Sydal!” treatment. Not Mike Sydal. Let’s say you have no idea who Matt Sydal is. You’d be wondering what a Sydal was. It was awkward to say the least. You should have walked up to him brimming with enthusiasm. "Oh, my God, a Sydal! It is an absolute shame a legendary Sydal like you are not main eventing WWE shows with Roman, a darn shame I tells ya."

Matt isn't quite up with some of the names mentioned in this thread but he seriously overestimates his own value and reputation in the business.

I will say that sexy star overall the other wrestlers mentioned here. At least the others have some tiny scrap of talent. Sexy star brings absolutely nothing to the table in talent. No mic skills and no in ring talent. She doesn't really look all that different from other luchadoras. Through sheer luck she fell into success. She's was only in LU because Robert Rodriguez wanted a masked female wrestler on the show.
Seriously, its amazing how someone who does so little, got so much.

Has anyone here read the Virgil "meat sauce" interview? Virgil might not have the BIGGEST undeserved ego but he definitely has some delusions of grandeur.

I don't know who Brimstone is, but I will have to find out now, so my pick is Shane Douglas. The guy has a charisma and decent in the ring, but he shit the bed in WWF, did nothing of real importance in WCW, and is hardly one of the first few things you think of when you think of ECW. The way he goes on though, like he started a revolution single handedly, and he's full of excuses for his major runs not working out. Oh, and his promos are shit.

I mean the Dean DOuglas gimmick was pretty shitty

thank you, I was surprised it took this far in the thread for him to come up as that ws the first name I thought of. I actually thought he was ok as marcus alexander bagwell during his early face days but he was pretty much midcarder for life who hung around with more popular people and thought the adulation was for him. I remember the story when he and booker T were backstage before their wcw match on RAW and someone was giving them instructions and buff was like "don't worry about it i'm a huge star."

Vince Russo strutting around in his basketball jerseys chomping his gum like he was the biggest star on the program. The guy wrote WWF TV in some of its biggest days and then killed WCW. That deserves a fairly hefty sized ego, methinks. Not for the reasons he probably would provide, but still..

Honestly, anyone in wrestling who has an ego about being a Tough Guy. You're a drama nerd; accept it.

This is a good answer. He always talked about, in shoots, where he backed down Sid with a squeegee or some dumb bullshit. I dont care if Sid himself told me it was true, I'd still call bullshit because Mike Graham said it.

Cody Rhodes. Sub-average guy who only got any of the chances he did in WWE because Dusty and who thinks he's the greatest thing to happen to wrestling outside WWE. It's part of why I absolutely refuse to support anything AEW does at all.
