The whims and opinions of Vince are completely insane.
The crazest part is that by all means,Vince doesnt like Harper as a perfomer and thinks he is awful, sure, whatever.
Then he personally writes that he won't release Harper? What?

Regardless of whether this story is true, it was reported.
There is a reason why any insane rumours about wrestling, especially Vince, gain some kind of traction.
Because some of them are true. And not always the less crazy ones.

I don't understand this at all, especially since I doubt he sees Harper as a draw.

He knows he doesn't need WWE, so punish him and try to show other people thinking that that WWE controls them anyway. The place is run like a cult.

The place is run like a cult. This gets to the root of how Vince sees people and the independent contractor problem. He thinks he just flat out owns people, even if he can't stand them or sees no use for them. He also sees people like Harper that just want to get out and leave as entitled, when they should feel indebted to him. Now some will squeak through for some godforsaken reason, as Vince's brain is a mess that makes no sense, but it still boils down to the fact that Vince is a really shitty person who waves his ownership over people regularly while monopolizing anything possible that could cut into that.

Never thought I'd be hoping for the day HHH hurries up and takes over the reigns from Vince like CM Punk alluded to in his PIPE BOMB but here we are.

This is pretty much the thing that will keep getting to me;
You’re bitter at him for not doing something you can easily help him with.
You keep that grudge for so long and right up to a match you put him in anyway after doing nothing for ages.
You then partially blame him for a botch that was caused by someone else.
...and yet you still pay him more money then he’ll make on the indies because...you don’t like money? And extend his contract further because...you really don’t like money?
I keep saying this and I will keep saying this; let go of the people who DO want to go and give pay raises to people who DON’T. THAT will help morale more than anything else right now.

You know the sad thing is that the day Vince either retires or dies, the stock is going to crash because Wall Street is convinced that Vince is the only person who understands wrestling.

I'm confused...how difficult is it to get fired from WWE.
What if he just showed up in another promotion's show? Would they release then? How about if he leaked naked pictures of himself or (falsely) confessed to having a drug problem. Or even just went into Vince's office and pee'd on his desk. It seems to me like if someone wants to get fired, that's the easy part.

What would they sue him for? He doesn't seem to have a lot of money. I feel like if he just went into Vince's office and pooped in a corner when Vince was not there that he would fire him and his problem would be solved.

If he breaches his contract, it doesn't matter what he has or doesn't. They'd sue his balls to the wall and have him so tied up in litigation we'd never see him again, AND he'd be stupid broke.

Okay, but let say he went into Vince's office and pooped in a corner when Vince was not there. Or he showed up drunk for work. What would they do then?

BEST case scenario(and...seriously, pooping in his office? He's a grown man, dude), he's looking at a harassment charge, depending on how Vince wants to do things. It would probably get him fired, yes, but also in more trouble than he really wants to deal with. As for showing up for work drunk to get fired, well....real talk, actions have consequences, and potential future employers aren't gonna care that "Well, I ONLY did it to get fired", when they realize he showed up to work drunk.

If it gets you out of a contract you don't want to be in then what's wrong with dropping trou and leaving a brown shark in his office? No one would dare press charges because he would be a legend!
