I mean, it is exactly what he said he would do on Colt's podcast.
I'm not holding my hopes up for a full-time return but would love to see him wrestling again. I'm glad the dude's (seemingly) happy, even with all the flack he gets for the MMA thing.

I genuinely hope that he got the itch back for wrestling solely bc the fighting shit just isn’t going to work out, my man lmao props to him for going at it, at least.

Not to cause trouble (again) this day, but what if I told you all that wasn't Punk, but actually the return of 2pac.
He gets around and all eyes are on him. It makes sense.

Dude got burnt out on his job and got jerked around by management. That'd make me walk away for a while, too, if I could afford it.
I could see Punk coming back for the right deal. Fewer dates for more money, maybe not "creative control" per se, but at least the ability to have more freedom in terms of how he tells his stories.
I don't see Punk as one of those guys that wants to work until he's crippled and can't perform anymore, but I can see him wanting to get out of the wrestling business for good on his own terms.

The more important news is that Ace Steele is still around.
Being a fan of Punk has been very hard after the whole real fighting and being exposed as a big phony era this last couple of years, he’s back where he’s the best in the world and a legend, in pro wrestling.

It would be kinda nice to see him back in wrestling but it would be absolutely legendary if this was the last wrestling related thing he ever did.

If Punk can deal with and forgive the wwe for firing him on his wedding day then he’s a better man than I can ever hope to be. The only other viable option is AEW. If Daddy Khan who is more than double the billionaire than Vince is wants Punk, he could’ve Punk.

This seems more like a one-time thing as a payoff to a joke than any hint of a wrestling return, really. Just something for him and some friends to laugh about for a while.

Anyone watch the video? Looks taller and lankier than Punk, and the GTS was kinda ugly (though that could be cuz it’s been awhile). I have my doubts. Even if the promoter “confirmed” it, this is wrestling baby, everything’s a work.

Yeah, gotta be honest. Even if the promoter says it was Punk, I can't be convinced it was or wasn't at this point. It's the way Punk said he'd come back...but it's also the way Punk said he'd come back.
Punk's the kind of guy who wouldn't hesitate to let someone else "be him" for the spot, have others say it was him and go have a chuckle at home after it all. He's also the kind of guy who might actually do it for an old friend.
At this point? Who knows.

So more or less Punk finally got caught haha. I feel like there was a rumor before of him doing this to but it was dismissed. I’m a pulling that out of my ass ?

The best part was that one of his first gimmicks in wrestling was being a masked jobber called The Goon. It all comes full circle like more than twenty years later.

I could see AEW being something that would really interest, Punk. Can “compete” with the WWE, while also making a boatload of cash.

CM Punk at AEW would floor me ngl IMO, it would not be that big of a deal-at least not as big as it could have once been. Granted I was never as crazy about him as most fans were, but he has been away from wrestling for so long and his star has taken a lot of damage from his UFC career and him pretty much reveling in being a jerk to fans. It could be a small shot in the arm for AEW once they have established themselves, but it won’t be like Hogan turning heel level of shock.

I think Punk has probably wanted to be more involved with wrestling for a while now, but his pride won’t let him. He said he was done so he maybe feels he has to stick to that, he is being stubborn. Just a theory, but it is in his blood, I can’t believe a guy like him just doesn’t get the itch.

Brock left WWE in shame but when he came back people went nuts, same for Ronda, she was damaged goods from UFC but when she came to wrestling that got overlooked pretty quickly. People will be pretty buzzed if Punk gets his wrestling bug back. I think people will forget his UFC stint really quickly. I'm surprised by the lukewarm response Punk got when he hit the GTS in that video, either he's so small and clunky that no one thought it was him or people are that sure he's done for good. You would think that a guy coming out and saving Ace Steel with a GTS would get a pretty huge pop.

That's awesome.
I have to admit, I did wish that Punk would roll into AEW as The Librarian; just have him walk out occasionally, shush everyone, leave, and never, ever acknowledge that it's CM Punk.
