What a weird world in which Agents of SHIELD's use of time travel makes more sense than Endgame.

What a weird world in which Agents of SHIELD's use of time travel makes more sense than Endgame. I wouldn't say that. It has elements of more traditional time travel (they very clearly do travel forwards and backwards within their own timeline, and are able to change the future) as well as elements of Endgame's version of time travel (preventing the future from happening doesn't prevent Deke from existing). You could argue that the monolith transported them in the same way the Quantum tunnel does in Endgame, but Fitz using the suspended animation pod and leaving weapons hidden in a wall would only work if in a situation where travel within the same timeline was possible. f***ing time travel and it's f***ing complications, man.

I decided to check in on this thread to see what was up with it being so consistently updated...
...We're still debating the time travel stuff? Really?
Come on, guys. The Russos already gave the definitive answer on the matter (if it wasn't already clear by the movie, which to me it was). The answer I doubt MCU won't dispute (at least for some time).

I just wanted to rib the 2 billion dollar movie by suggesting that a TV show that's not even really connected to franchise of the 2 billion dollar movie, and a show that less than 2 million people watch live week to week, kind of did time travel better, as far as superhero comic book science works. And it did it sooner!

I doubt you could make a story using time travel that perfectly ties up every thread. Endgame did it about the best I’ve ever seen, but there’s always going to be something.

Time travel is always going to fall apart if you try and put any real scrutiny on the logic to it cuz it's just inherently a fantastical premise even in science fiction. Just gotta roll with it with however the particular story says it works. The minute you start going: "Well what about..." in a time travel story, game's over.

I really see the Captain America thing as a huge plot hole and don't really think there's a satisfying answer to it, but I also really don't care that much or think it really warrants trying to dissect months after the fact.
And really I'm a huge advocate for Steins;Gate and despite that having very strict rules for its time travel it still has obvious holes in it, so it's not like this is a storybreaker for me.

I'm just glad it took the no. 1 spot from Avatar.
Here's hoping that none of Avatar's sequels get even close.

Not really, the timeline doesn't diverge until after SHIELD returns to the present and kill Talbot, so Fitz' suspended animation trick isn't a problem. And Deke's continued existence actually supports the Avenger's time travel rules. The timeline he's from still exists, it's just that he and the SHIELD team no longer live in it. I'm not sure what's gonna happen next season, but so far every time travel thing we've seen between SHIELD and Avengers has been consistent.

Only if you follow what the writers keep insisting happens over the Russos... >_> Cap going back makes another timeline where he lives with Peggy and undoubtedly changes a bunch of other stuff too because he's still Captain America and I doubt he could completely ignore everything going on (nor would Peggy let him) he goes around the long way and jumps back to the bench when he catches up to roughly the same time like how Tony and Steve jumped back from the battle of New York to the Shield Lab.

After some reading and thought...Wanda is totally getting the nod as the next big bad in the MCU isn’t she?
I fully expect her powers to rise further as her mental stability deteriorates.

All this talk only reminds me that I wasted money on "The Time Machine" in 2002. My wife really liked that movie. I thought it was alright. Jeremy Irons as the villain? That's always fun. Guy Pierce as the hero? He's pretty solid. Orlando Jones as a somewhat smart-mouthed sidekick-like character? Honestly, it's no surprise when that works. Mark Addy as an actual sidekick character? He always knocks it out of the park. The special effects being put together by a combination of Stan Winston Studios and ILM? Those are basically the best in the biz. Samantha Mumba running around in a slightly revealing outfit? That not only was easy on the eyes, she was surprisingly competent as an actress.
