Don’t think he’s done it recently, but Cole a couple of times would hold his mic on his headset and sound like he was under water. No announcer does that anywhere else.

When they say how prestigious the IC and IS titles are and read a list of former champions. Just highlights how far they've fallen. Show they're prestigious, dont tell.
Cole switching to big fight mode for Brock's matches, like he thinks he's doing boxing commentary on radio. All short fast sentences to inject some urgency. Tbf in isolation it kinda works but as he only does it in those matches it just makes it more phony. Basically he's implying this is more real and can end any time while others matches he'll sit back, admire sequences and even openly say this will be a long one.

All commentators now have the same inflection in their voice...all sounding like Michael Cole.
I sometimes couldn't tell the difference between Cole and Tom Phillips because they commentate the exact same way. Corey Graves is just a heel version of that.
That overly-verbose and drawn out way of speaking, and using the same buzzwords and phrasing for every single match.
Cole has been just been on a steep decline since he was moved to RAW in '08/'09. He was at least somewhat tolerable when he was with Tazz and didn't sound like he downed five bottles of Ambien before going to work like he has for the last decade.

Anytime a segment or match is dying a clear death in front of our eyes and the announcers are forced to schill how amazing it is anyway.
When he was in his prime, one of the good things about JR was he would let you know when a match sucked with the occasional bowling shoe remark.
Better to admit something is the shits once or twice a show, than to sabotage the entire show by taking away the credibility of the announcers.

Just Michael Cole in general. Hes absolute shit and he contributes nothing of any worth to a sports or sports entertainment product in 2019.
His fake laughter makes anything even remotely funny uncool.
The "WE COULD HAVE A NEW CHAMPION" bit on every kickout at 2 pretty much telegraphs that the match isn't ending.
He argues the most inane points with his co commentators to win points on an argument that only the guys at the desk care about.
Seriously, watch the greats of any other sport and listen to how they interact with their partner on the mic. It's the absolute antithesis of Michael Cole.
He is referred to as the voice of WWE. Yeah you absolutely are the voice of an over produced, inauthentic, executive-interest-driven, mediocre product that caters to a 70+ year old man's perception of what is interesting and relevant in modern pop culture.
I know I've gone off here but seriously, f*** Michael Cole.

Definitely the social media shilling. If you're doing a good job and your product is entertaining, people will follow you. Don't tell everyone 5 times to do it on every show, and don't boast how you're trending 5 times in every single PPV. I don't care.

It's like they take the base minimum of JR, Jesse & Bobby, add buzzwords and Tell the announcers to do that.

JR is the best ever, but I don’t give a f*** if a guy is an all American or how he broke his school record at something. This ain’t that sport, this is a fake sport.

Graves' incessant bickering is basically unlistenable Graves and JBL before him have this problem of wanting to be like the classic heel commentators, but they go too overboard with it. Compare their work to Ventura (Heenan was more comedy hence why I'm using Jesse for this). Ventura would bicker with McMahon and even on occasion Monsoon, but he knew when to dial it back for the sake of the show.

The worst habit I have ever seen is Mauro Ranallo showing up for work and then speaking.

When they have to cut to a commercial Cole always pitches his voice up like 3 octaves; "Can X recover?! find out when we get back" makes it super obvious a commercial is coming.
