Honestly donāt get where the pandering stuff comes from, to put it really simply. None of us knew the casting process or who else auditioned so unless, like, you have that stuff on hand, it just feels like a hollow argument. Also, hey, makes sense to me. The films arenāt called James Bond, theyāre 007 so you could put anyone in there and itād suit. Well the films arenāt called 007 either so going by that logic, it doesnāt even need to be any of the Secret Intelligence Service agents as the star As for pandering, Iām not saying thatās what they are doing because I havenāt seen the film or a script etc. all Iām saying is that I hope they donāt put a female in the role just because the character (rightly) has been called out in the past for being out of date even up to a few films ago and them going āSee we made a woman 007, look at how progressive we areā. Instead of improving their current female characters or heaven forbid actually write better roles for women in films going forward

If they want a female spy so much make her a different 00 agent and have it be in the bond Universe.
Even most of the hardcore fans are fine with that.

After spending $12+ on Quantum of Solace and $15+ on SPECTRE, I don't really care who plays 007 or James Bond...
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, you a real dickhead.

Hiddleston would be my top choice
Henry Cavill a virtual tie

And "James" is often treated as a gender-neutral name. appellationmountain.net/james-for-a-girl-baby-name-of-the-day/

Doesn't Cavill actually like, really want the job? He's my age, 36...so he's good, age wise.
Roger Moore was like in his early 60s when he did his last Bond film, wasn't he? I know it's because they couldn't get anybody else in time, but still.
If we were going to have a gay bond, Rupert Everett would have been perfect twenty years ago. If we had lived in a more enlightened society. Hell, he would have been a great Bond if he was playing straight.
My favorite Bond story though, is when Dick Van Dyke was filming Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and Broccoli offered him the role for the next movie. Van Dyke goes, "Have you heard my British accent?" referring to Mary Poppins. And Albert Broccoli goes, "Oh yeah, that's right." and pulls the offer. lol.

Cavil. His Man from UNCLE appearance pretty well was the same as Bond anyway.

He does and, based on past roles he's gotten that he's really wanted, he'd be super nerdy enthusiastic about it. I mean, just look at him with Superman. He's been the same way with Geralt in The Witcher.

Lashana Lynch might play a character using the 007 codename probably in a subplot where Bond is reassigned or on a sabbatical.

Iām open to this idea, but I still want Ejiofor as my next Bond. Heās got the badass presence and the Englishness.

I dont see the issue with this, but the reveal clearly screams of the producers virtue signalling and hoping for a cyber pat on the back from Tumblr.
If kept quiet and revealed in the movie, yes, that would have been a great, memorable moment that would have caught everyone by surprise.
But the producers have blew their load early.

Iād be very interested in a film about a hard drinking, sexually promiscuous, sociopathically violent female Bond. If they want to make that film Iām absolutely on board. If they want to continue the questionable quality of the Craig films (theyāre already bringing back Blofield), no thanks.

Sean Connery will return to star in Okay, But Really Never Say Never This Time. Will Trebek be the villain "Maybe heāll go rogue too?" Connery has always been a rogue
