W just have a bad feeling we'll never going to hear the great theme music of Kairi again as well as Asuka
I doubt kairi sane is going to get a singles push ever unfortunately

When Io gets called up they can become the new Black Lotus Triad. The Geisha House Party.

Was it really hard to call them Pirate Empresses or Empress Pirates? Wait, it’s WWE and simple things don’t exist for them. What about The Pirates of Tomorrow?.

Not linking because the tweet Paige quoted has swearing in it, but she says that Asuka and Kairi chose the Kabuki Warriors name, but they originally wanted it to be the Kabuki Girls.

I like how on that a Asuka post, the fans went from
“Vince is a racist” to “oh Asuka/kairi came up with this name? It’s awesome!”
Extra cringey is they call them as Asuka Chan and Kairi Chan

Funny thing that Kabuki is played solely by male actors since 1629.

I was confused but how this applies to Kairi but then I remember that she has a move that Mauro kept calling the Kabuki elbow

I have no reason to doubt Paige on her word, really, but the general discourse around WWE is just so negative and toxic because of all the stories coming out about talents being unhappy, staff being unhappy, people of ill repute being featured stars and another Saudi Arabia show on the way, ON TOP of the general malaise of the weekly TV product, that I’m not surprised that minds went towards “THAT’S RACIST” and that I wouldn’t be surprised if Paige is eventually accused of covering up and putting up a front to get the heat off of Vince. *sigh* This shit’s no fun to talk about anymore. That’s not anyone’s fault, but it’s why I’m barely saying things on here, at the moment.

Funny thing that Kabuki is played solely by male actors since 1629. This is very true I was thinking of actually asking asuka or kairi on Twitter if she's aware this and how silly this is. I speak Japanese and I wish I could actually ask her on Twitter in Japanese language so maybe she'll feel a little ease to respond in Japanese thinking none of the people in WWE can read it so she might actually give me a hint on how they really feel cuz there's no way they could have approved this they both would know Kabuki is a male performer thing females are not involved

I know they going to take away the pirate princess gimmick away from kairi sane aren't they? Doing Vince he'll probably still the game I can give it to one of the blonde chicks that he sees on the performance center

It is no less an ethnic stereotype because of that, even if he volunteered himself. I mean if you are going for that Mark Henry calling himself a Silverback is right there... Possibly, but I wouldn't say those two things are equivalent. He may have called himself a silverback, but he wasn't acting like a gorilla when performing. Kung Fu Naki reinforces the stereotype of East Asians knowing martial arts. Whether or not it was Funaki's idea is irrelevant to that fact. Ed Farhat's Sheik character reinforced negative stereotypes about Arabs eventhough the character was his idea.

From Asuka's Twitter. Direct link for those that don't get embeds. That's cool. So their team name is kind of "The Weirdos"? haha. I saw an old Kairi tweet from like 2015 calling her flying forearm the "kabuki elbow" too so I guess it has a history with her too. I'm just glad they're not called "Team" something or an awful portmanteau of some kind.

Fun Fact: Kabuki is for a long time a man'only thing.
But dont let that stop WWE because JAPANESE RIGHT? Even if they came up with the name its pretty bad
At least get both gimmicks in there: Kabuki Pirates
