The execution was dumb based on what I’ve read. I haven’t watched wwe in a few years since it’s crap. But Mox talking down the gas mask and hazmat suit as being awful. I disagree. It was probably written to be terrible but the concept amuses the shit out of me. Vince probably good shitted it, but wearing a hazmat suit for cheap heat about the town being stank Conceptually grabs me.

Probably could have worked for a mid card heel with better writing, definitely not going to work for Ambrose though.

I really thought every step of the way the gimmick was just awful. The only part I liked at all was the jacket.

Coming out with a gas mask or a handkerchief and telling the audience they smell, getting injections in the ass, wearing a hazmat suit.
That's all total midcard comedy heel stuff. I can imagine The Miz doing that, or Baron Corbin.
Ambrose should have been a killer serious heel. Instead he's forced to do promos telling the audience to take a shower, just the dirt worst kind of hokey Vince material.

Doesn't work for his character at all. MAYBE would be ok for a new character, but even then it's really cheesy cheap heat. Perhaps "you people stink" guy could team with a guy whose main gimmick was hating all local sports teams

If he'd been a paranoid germaphobe that was losing his mind after Roman got sick and being scared of everything it could have worked maybe. People would probably still laugh though and see it as a comedic costume or something. Just telling crowds they smell is beyond childish and embarrassing.

I thought the gas mask looked badass, personally. They could have given a better reason for wearing it, but the gas mask / Bane look was pretty cool.

Chikara proved the look can work, but don't dress a guy up like that unless you're going to make him a world-beater. Ambrose isn't that type of character. Honestly, Lars would have been convincing with that look, if take out the germaphobic shit and make it about the menacing aspect of the costume.

I do think Mox was a little too hard on some of the stuff he did, but the only things I liked about that heel turn were the jacket and necklace.

A gas mask can be cool and creepy, they put them on Orton's merch for years for some reason, there's Psycho Mantis from Metal Gear Solid, "The Empty Child" from Doctor Who.
Just... not like this, not with Dean, not for these reasons. You walk out into the HARSH bright lights they use, everything looks worse.
Some moody promos cut in a dark room with voice distortion for a new guy, could be really interesting.
