WWE getting rid of commercials during matches

On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, it was reported that Vince McMahon held a meeting and announced there will no longer be commercials on WWE TV while a match is in progress.  This was the reason for the 2/3 falls matches on TV last week as the breaks happened between falls.

Wait, so if they needed the 2/3 falls thing for this, then how is this gonna go for a normal match? Like I'm just picturing a scene where it's commercial time and the wrestlers drop everything like oh shit great match so far dude sweet headlock

Back in the day, TV matches were no longer than a segment. Yes, they were short, but you had more of them. Which means more talent got featured.

Save the longer matches for PPV and house shows.

Hell, go back to having the entrances going into a commercial, and the opening bell when they come back from it.

Presumably, they just run commercials during entrances.

I don't understand why they don't just do the split-screen they've been doing on Smackdown for ALL commercial breaks on both Smackdown and Raw. You still get your ads in and it doesn't disrupt the flow of the matches for people watching at home

Guy #2: "That's, weirdly less compared to the turn the lights off guy, but okay..."

Vince: "Okay everyone, we need one more thing and we'll have saved WWE."

Guy #3: "What if we tighten up the writing and continuity, people will love it!"

Vince: "Get the f*** out."

Guy #3: "W-what? I just moved here from LA to write for you full time, I uprooted my family-"

I've never like the commercials during matches. How about cutting 15-20 min of "backstage" filler out of your shows and using that time for ads?

So now we'll get even more awkwardly paced shows because nobody actually knows how to produce a show without commercials cutting into matches. Yay!

It seriously sounds like they're trying to change every aspect of the show aside from the one thing legit needing fixed.

I mean. It's so simple. They are gonna change everything except for that. They have terrible villains. It makes the good guys look even worse. Who's character is interesting enough to make a match up interesting? The match can be good, but what purpose does it serve if their characters aren't interesting.

And then show produced around those characters zaps the personality out of the show.

In NASCAR, the purpose is to either outright win, or place well enough that you can maintain you position within the ranking and keep the sponsors visible. But every track has a different personality and you can't race the exact same way on every track. And the presentation of that race is around how the races have to perform on said track. WWE tries to act like the track shouldn't dictate how they race. That they are bigger than the track itself and that they are always in control when they are ruining cars every week. You get what I'm saying.

Fox invested in WWE based on what the company could be, which is why they pushing what they want from the company instead of what we've been getting. But I think what we are getting from WWE is their version of of what Fox is looking for. Hence this whole Shane thing.

Nice idea but they can't all be 2/3 fall or gauntlet matches, sometimes you just need a regular long match.

Although I'm well trained that when they jump to the outside I fast forward.

I see this edict lasting about as long as the third hour of Raw being more gritty.

If only because it has to make the shows even worse to watch live. Yay, enjoy having three minutes of absolutely nothing happening!
