This is huge man. This might be the biggest change to the in-ring production we've seen in decades. If they go through with this then it'll be interesting to see.

That rounds thing sounds absolutely horrible. Like, I'm not even open to giving it a chance, that's just stupid bullshit.

I highly recommend watching some old World Of Sport matches on YouTube. The ones I typically see on there were ten three minute rounds, and seeing someone trying to withstand or hold off a submission in the final seconds of a round were super compelling to watch.

The rounds thing definitely sounds like an "appease Fox" idea, as well as a horrendously bad one.

Commercials during matches pissed me off when wcw was doing it. Now I'm just thinking not this shit again! Here's hoping they actually do away with it.

Hey, remember when they did that commercial-free Raw that one time? They could do that, commercial-free matches, but have product placement during the matches! People like Seth, Rey and Alexa, who do cosplay attires, can wear ring gear that ties in with a sponsor! And Cole can make references to Skittles and Old Spice on commentary! And we can have crowd shots where the fans are eating Popeye's chicken and Arby's Gyros! And R-Truth can interrupt the matches and shill stuff! It would be such good shit!

Are you retired yet?" Dustin: "Okay, hear me out Vince. What if we stop the show entirely during commercial breaks." Vince: "I uh... I guess that sounds okay. What do you think, Hunter?" "Whatever, sure Vince. I'm literally not paying attention to anything until you retire."

Wow yeah rounds in a wrestling match sounds awful, especially a 2019 WWE wrestling match.

Congrats WWE you are doing what I have said for the longest time more wrestling companies need to do and that is choose a singular identified direction and go fully with it.
I am also glad u chose the direction that will put atleast a few of us into a nice quick instant snooze because I can always use more reasons to sleep.

I don't mind longer matches on TV because they tend to be higher quality. I rather one good 15-minute match than three ok rush five-minute matches.

Rounds system?
Is WWE going to steal the Grand Dad championship from Impact?

Okay but can we talk about how weird and bizarre it is that the company's solution to this problem is to just run way too many needless, inexplicable 2/3 falls matches? At this point they're so far out of resolving or dealing with their issues in a constructive way that if this company were a house fire they'd be responding by filing their taxes. Everything about the product but its actual root problems are going to be played around with until the day Vince goes away.

Rounds system? Is WWE going to steal the Grand Dad championship from Impact? But who gets the inexplicable and hilariously ill-fitting serious shoot fighter gimmick they somehow accidentally book Aron Rex into? I'm thinking Titus O'Neil, who will somehow literally slip on a banana peel every match and it's not a planned spot or anything it just somehow keeps happening to him.

Everything about the product but its actual root problems are going to be played around with until the day Vince goes away. The tried and true philosophy of "they like cage matches so let's just leave the cage up for every match on the show" as told by Sun Tzu The year is 2021. WWE has managed to run through every possible gimmick and specialty match they can oversaturate their product with to diminishing returns, and in their desperation, send out surveys to fans asking them what shows they like so they be more like that. Because of a computer error, only one "Charming Mothma N." answers the survey, leading to a 100% audience response that WWE fans overlap with fans of '90s-'00s supernatural drama Charmed, and proceed to turn Raw into a WWE-sponsored syndication spot just playing episodes of Charmed, but not season seven "because it got really shitty", but with additional playing of the music of The Smiths because "that cover they used as the theme was lame and also '80s Morrissey captured the languished essence of loneliness and sorrow so perfectly he deserves more mainstream play for it". Raw does a 10.9 rating in week two of this new way to operate.

Do any UK promotions still use the rounds system? If so, can someone recommend a good recent match under those rules?
