TNA is dead; it's Impact. Yeah, I've been calling them TNA for 17 years now and everyone knows what you mean when you say that, plus it's quicker to type, so I'm going to keep calling it TNA. Lol quicker. That's like saying it's quicker to call WWE "WWF." Impact wanted to change thier image over the past two years and put out a good product and they deserve it.

Jericho had Callis and Damoore on his podcast. They're really selling this as a giant step up.

I've said it before, the irony in everything is that there were rumors years ago that Sinclair was rebranding the Tennis Network and would make ROH a priority for the new network... now Anthem is doing that with AXS and Impact.

The Callis/D'Amore episode of TIJ is very good. Nice to see how proud those two are of the work they've done... it's also cool to see how proud Jericho is of his friends.
The main message that Callis said he has gotten (and D'Amore backed up) is that people who have been with Impact since the beginning have said this is the most stable the company has ever been. They stated that even with the Spike TV deal, the company was so reliant on it that many felt they never actually grew.
But again, you can't help but be impressed with what the two did for Impact. I think people may not like the comparison they made (the current product being similar to if the Rolling Stones were playing in a garage) but they also are self aware of what TNA's reputation was (joking that the first PPV of 2020 should be called Hard to Kill)

At least in written form, TNA is quicker.

The rumor is that TNA's looking to use this to try to muscle ROH out and become NJPW's new partner. Which comes off a little like if your stalker bought your office building. NJPW should try and look elsewhere, also lock it's doors I can't see them going back to Impact after last time, although it is a completely different company now and Callis could certainly rebuild that bridge. Personally, with how ROH has been running of late, I wouldn't mind New Japan working with Impact at all. I think the biggest issue will be the same as AEW, they seem to have a relationship with AAA and New Japan is very loyal to CMLL.

Impact's certainly being persistent in trying to mend fences with New Japan. But New Japan also has long memories about how poorly TNA used Okada and their other loaned talent. There's also something to be said with Impact's and AEW's relationship with AAA, and New Japan is VERY loyal to CMLL.
I still think it's most likely they just go it on their own and just continue to run some shows with CMLL even if ROH isn't part of the equation anymore.

Tuesday's probably the best night for them and hey, will help keep up the momentum for those used to SmackDown on Tuesdays. And hey, more options the better.
That said, yeesh I have no idea how some people who watch every bit of wrestling imaginable manage it. I feel like if I tried to watch every bit of wrestling on in a week by the time I reached SmackDown I wouldn't want to watch wrestling again for a month.

So do Impact actually have anything that they do better than either WWE, NXT or AEW? Because looking at their roster, it's thin and doesn't really have that much star power.

Based on what I've watched of late - kind of dipped in here and there - it isn't really so much that there's any particular area they're amazing in as they're just kind of generally competent on the whole. It's not mindblowingly good wrestling or anything but it's a pretty solid show to just turn on, watch halfheartedly, and kill a couple hours.

Impact should have stayed on Thursdays because they are gonna get curb stomped so hard going up against both Flash and Arrow.

Yeah, as much as I love the Arrowverse shows they aren’t exactly ratings juggernauts. Plus, they’re a lot more DVRable then live NFL so it’s smart to avoid Thursday.

The Arrowverse shows take priority for me, but I'll watch Impact when those shows are in reruns.
So do Impact actually have anything that they do better than either WWE, NXT or AEW? Because looking at their roster, it's thin and doesn't really have that much star power. I wouldn't say it does anything particularly better, but it's a decent product in its own right. It's basically a super-indy at this point and the show's pretty fun if you approach it as such. They also have relationships with AAA and NOAH.
