With all the talk of evil creatures and such can we talk about Mikes hair? It looks it it's trying to consume him and nobody seems to notice. Will: *touches neck* He's hair.

Really enjoyed this season, much more than 2. {Spoiler}Looking forward to season 4 and the hopeful return of Hopper (he didn't get an actual death scene, like say Bob, Billy, or Barb) so I assume he is the American in Russia. The effects were really good, the monster disintegrating all those people to be bigger, the newspaper guys fight with Nancy and John, the various kids storylines, Steve & Robin, Billy's arc I enjoyed it all. Didn't like the Mayor felt he was kind of irrelevant.

Yeh I personally liked much more than season 2(which I find forgetable)
This season really had a true Lovecraftian vibe to it,With the doppelgangers and cult sprawling. That feeling everyone is a possible enemy and no one is safe.
But honestly the russians iffed me,it was too... "kids spy movies villain" . I would rather have had a rich lovecraftian cult doing it or something like that.

Finished it over the weekend and enjoyed it. I liked it better than 2, as well.
I felt like the season went by really quickly. I got really wrapped up in what they were doing and got through the season a little quicker than I normally would. And now I miss it.

This season was so much fun and better than season 2. Man, this show really makes me wish I could spend a day in the 80s, but no Google would drive me nuts. {Spoiler}Hopper is definitely not dead. We don’t see his body and in fiction, when a character’s death isn’t fully shown, means they ain’t dead. I’m going with the main theories that he is being held captive by the Russians because he knows about the Upside Down or he’s in the Upside Down. Or we’ll get something completely unexpected. I do wonder if season 4 will be the last as the creators said they want to end at 4 or 5 seasons.

I want the show keep going for years until the kids are 40-somethings in the 2010s complaining about millennial's.

Edit: I can't imagine the creators going "we have the hottest show on Netflix, so let's end it."

{Spoiler} I hesitate to mention this but did anyone else have a problem with the whole Robin reveal in the 2nd to last episode? It seemed like the season built all of this Steve/Robin stuff leading to them becoming a thing only to pull the rug out from under the viewer with her lesbian reveal. What made it even weirder was the previous episode with them being tied up by the Russians and Robin talking about how she sat behind Steve in class and he never noticed her, basically insinuating that she was attracted to Steve but he didn't notice her. Perhaps if there's a season 4 they'll do some clarification that she's bi or something, a more serious version of the bit at the end of Dodgeball.

{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW} The reveal there was also that she didn't have any crush on Steve, she initially resented Steve because the girl she was crushing on was infatuated with Steve, and that Robin wished the girl had looked at HER like that. It was a cool moment, actually.

Thoroughly enjoyed that. Thought it was better that season 2 by a country mile, though not quite to par with the original. Few niggles, mostly surrounding the boys characters feeling kinda in substantial, especially Mike who after essentially being the lead in season 1 has now had 2 seasons of feeling like an after thought. Will would suffer from that to, but his moment with the destruction of castle bryers made me actually cry. Death of childhood innocence man, it’s a painful thing.
That said, the action was great, a real sense of tension throughout. While season 2 felt like it was dragging, this was 8 episodes of throughly amazingly paced stuff, which managed to take the side characters and further inject them with heart and poignancy. All the deaths felt like a big deal, and all the emotional notes and comedy notes really hit home for me.
Also, one of the shows strength has always been its production. And my god they raised the bar here. The lighting alone is just... mwah, gorgeous.
Plus, Maya Hawke is a friggin STAR. She radiates talent and charisma, with a Johannson sequel voice. With the right roles, she could be a breakout hit.

Really good season, just finished watching it. What I enjoy about Stranger Things is they have the perfect blend of horror, drama and comedy. Some shows/movies go too far either side (or not enough side) but this has the perfect mix. It can be laugh out loud funny one minute, scary the next, sad the next without it feeling out of place. In fact, I'd say Stranger Things mixes the comedy with drama better than the MCU does because they tend to spoil tense/serious/dramatic scenes by throwing in a humorous quip. Here, they get the mix just right.
Really good season the scene with Will destroying the club house was sad. Probably sadder for me even than Smirnoff and Hopper's deaths.
The Russian terminator type guy was a bit lame and goofy, and some of the gang's roles felt marginalized. But other than that, no real complaints.
Winona Ryder is superb in this. She's been great the past two seasons, but her performance really stood out here.

I’m planning a review for FAN so I’ll go into more detail about what I thought there, but I enjoyed the hell out of this season. It wasn’t perfect, but I loved the variety in the threats the heroes dealt with. Steve and Robin are insanely charming together.
Does Murray just write shipping fan fiction about people in Hawkins? First Nancy and Jonathan last season, now he plays matchmaker with Hop and Joyce.

Really enjoyed this season. Count me in for agreeing this season was better than the last but not the first. Great characters, awesome settings, fantastic effects, classic music, etc. There was so much to enjoy. I was hooked on every episode. I understand a lot of people feeling some characters had diminished roles. You could probably make an argument for most of them. I liked that though. No one individual hogged the spotlight. It felt much more shared this season than any other. Plus there were some new characters that really shined too. I also get the complaints about the Russians but this show is a love letter to the 80s so they fit for me after watching movies like Red Dawn and Rocky 4. My only complaint is when the video store clerk asks Steve which Star Wars movie he liked. The clerk asked if it was A New Hope. No one referred to Star Wars as A New Hope in casual conversation until the prequel trilogy over a decade later. The show is pretty faithful to the 80s so that irked me for a moment.
I’m going to guess that Eleven’s powers return and she somehow ends up connecting with Hopper. Then the gang starts to reunite to make the trip to break him out. The other monster gets loose and the fun begins. I’ll be watching when it does. Hopefully there won’t be a long wait.

I remembered something I disliked, a lot.
The product placement.
It was SO obnoxious this season. That scene were Lucas talks about Coke for 2 minutes is the worst scene in the show.
Now, I don't mind product placement if it's done with a bit of subtlety. A bar in a movie looks stupid if the signs say generic "BEER!" "DRINKS" "HOOCH" etc. Have a bar scene with a Heineken or Cors sign in the background, sure, it's product placement but makes the bar look like a bar.
A guy's grabbing a drink while watching TV and he grabs a coke, fine, people drink coke. A guy only wears a certain brand of clothes, again, fine. I only wear Levis jeans, some people are like that. It's product placement but it's not obnoxious and adds to the character.
But I HATE product placement where the characters discuss how good something is, or lingering obnoxious shots of the product label, or where every item's label is miraculously aimed at the camera. f*** that bollocks.
At least it didn't end up going whole hog and having Coke somehow be used to save the day like World War Z and Pepsi...

First Nancy and Jonathan last season, now he plays matchmaker with Hop and Joyce. I was disappointed they pulled the Robin is gay swerve. Not because, "oh noes, gay people" but because they were so great together, would have made a fun couple and having Steve confess his feelings only for that to happen felt like an unnecessary kick to the balls for a great character. Especially because we had Hopper and Joyce teased and then yanked away with Hopper's "death" too. Still, I suppose Susie turning out to be real and hilarious, made up for it. The Neverending Story scene was so well done.

The scene where the zombiefied residents of Hawkins are summoned back to the mill and collapse into piles of flesh absorbed by the Mind Flayer will haunt me for some time.

It was a great and fun season.
I thought the actor that plays Robin looked familiar, yet I had not seen any of the other things she has appeared in. What I should of looked up is a biography and not her filmography... she looks just like a teenage version of her mother.
