I think we should be talking about the fact that FOX, and not WWE, are the ones wanting to try and hinder AEW. Like WWE isn't salivating at the idea of crushing any potential competition that comes its way?

Also, come on, we’re literally a week from WWE coincidently deciding to debut EVOLVE on the Network the same day as AEW’s show. Like, I’m not saying AEW haven’t taken shots but the big moves have come WWE’s end.

The same people will defend WWE doing everything it can to "coincidentally" hurt AEW's business but act like AEW's bush league because Cody makes a flippant comment here and there or hits a throne with a sledgehammer.

I doubt it would happen but I would love it if NXT got better ratings than RAW.

It'd be extremely unlikely. FS1 doesn't have nearly the penetration in households that USA has.

NXT os going to be on Wednesday’s to go up against AEW? Just can’t let another wrestling company exist can you Vince?

It'd be extremely unlikely. FS1 doesn't have nearly the penetration in households that USA has. And you just know if NXT got to that level,it suddenly would suck either because Vince wants RAW to be his baby or because he had to personally be more involved.(You choose which is more likely)

I wonder how long it would take for FOX’s number 1 sports broadcasters, Joe Buck and Tim McCarver to make an appearance. I personally do not see Joe Buck as a wrestling fan. He probably hates it and plus not a lot of sports fans like him.

I'd really prefer they leave NXT on the Network. Why? The move to FS1 would mean more chances for people to see NXT. Why wouldn't you want more people seeing NXT? If NXT does move to FS1 I will end up DVRing it. Sure I can watch NXT on Hulu. But my father is into wrestling again. And he doesn't have Hulu but he gets FS1. And he has liked the NXT stuff I have shown him.

That whole "help familiarize FOX viewers" thing is so hilariously stupid. The same fans who watch on USA are the ones who will be watching on FOX. We just, you know, hit a different number on our remote. What about the fans that do not get USA but get FOX. Like people that have cut the cord and use an antenna for their TV. Having a way to catch them up with what is going on with Smackdown is a good idea. So it is far from being hilariously stupid.

We just, you know, hit a different number on our remote. They're banking on people without cable starting to watch. Don't know how many that would be, but FOX are hoping a significant number. Might just be cause the cable locally is crap, but I know piles of wrestling fans that do not get USA and haven't seen Smackdown in years. So once Smackdown moves to FOX they will be watching again.

Yo, why are people acting like NXT on Wednesday’s is some kind of evil plot to crush AEW? NXT is on Wednesday’s NOW, there’s literally no difference.

Yo, why are people acting like NXT on Wednesday’s is some kind of evil plot to crush AEW? NXT is on Wednesday’s NOW, there’s literally no difference. A sizable portion of this board became unhinged last year when the TV deals were announced. You can look back to the beginning of internet forums and find fans shitting on the televised product (that's just what fans do) but the TV deals pushed a lot of people over the edge. It seems a lot of them had deluded themselves into thinking the renewal deals were going to be a big step back and that Vince was going to get his. Hell, some even talked about the possibility of the company eventually going under. Then the TV deals were announced and it was like two big-ass nut shots. Im not sure if it was the realization that the company was going to continue to financially or if it was the coming to grips with the notion that few, if any, of us on this board have a true understanding of the business sides of the wrestling and television industries. Whatever the reason, a lot of the people on this board damn near seemed to experience the five stages of grief over the TV deals. The acceptance part only seemed to come when they began throwing around potential scenarios of USA or Fox could escape the deals ahead of time. That was a long, drawn-out way of saying many people who post here simply hate the company and want to bitch about it at every opportunity.

He probably hates it and plus not a lot of sports fans like him. Tim is retired. As for Joe, turns out he actually watched the local St. Louis wrestling show way back when: Yo, why are people acting like NXT on Wednesday’s is some kind of evil plot to crush AEW? NXT is on Wednesday’s NOW, there’s literally no difference. Even in this day and age more people have FS1 than the network.

Yo, why are people acting like NXT on Wednesday’s is some kind of evil plot to crush AEW? NXT is on Wednesday’s NOW, there’s literally no difference. I don't think the day itself is the problem, but I don't think putting it back on TV is a coincidence. At this point, AEW will only have a TV deal, while NXT is primarily on an on-demand service. So, if I, a hypothetical casual viewer, have AEW and NXT as options, one is available just on TV in its allotted time slot, with maybe a replay later in the week, and one is available on demand anytime I want to watch it, which one am I more likely going to watch on Wednesday night? Probably the one that's TV only. So the same people will be watching NXT as they are right now, but not on Wednesday night. Plus, many homes likely have TNT as part of their basic cable package, while the WWE network is a paid subscription service on top of their cable bill, or a premium channel where the on demand service isn't available, or is only available through certain providers. Putting NXT on the same night, likely in the same time slot, can be seen as an attempt to siphon live TV viewers away from AEW.

There's a stark difference between homes with cable and homes without.
There's a sizeable opportunity to pick up a hell of a lot of potential viewers being on FOX. I really hope this means WWE gets its ass in gear with something entertaining.

Even in this day and age more people have FS1 than the network. Also, to say this again, this is a tactic they’ve always done. They did it to companies in the territories, they did it to WCW and they’re doing it now. Just because they haven’t had a need to use it for ages doesn’t mean that never happened or it wasn’t something they weren’t capable of doing. And yeah, other companies do it to an extent in terms of programming blocks and the like but never really to hurt the competition as much as win against them. There is a difference.
