Oh man, imagine the hilarious image of Sheamus reffing a match between the Lucha House Party, the first time a ref towers over the wrestler.

Might just be for some promo shoot.
But in any case, becoming a referee before inevitably returning for a match against some bastard heel would be a good storyline for someone like Sheamus.

Sheamus as a ref would be interesting if he didn't act like a traditional ref.
If he gets pushed, he'll push back. He won't sell like he died, but rather like a normal wrestler.

KEEP THE MO!!!
and KEEP his persona too, so they can write him as a decent upcommer ref first, and gradually gets mocked for the GREATEST hairstyle in WWE and makes him mad as hell and douchebags matches for giggles

That’s what I was thinking. He could be the ref that calls more heated matches/title matches where he won’t be shoved around and gives the wrestlers more leeway than usual because he’s been there and knows how things can be in the heat of battle

yeah it'd be funny to see sheamus suddenly getting shoved to the ground by say a heel rey mysterio because, having donned a ref's shirt, he has lost all of the power he once had as a wrestler. but being genre savvy, sheamus quickly removes the shirt and regains his powers to lawn dart mysterio a la kevin nash.

His face is almost unrecognizable with that larger beard and his hair down like that. If this thread hadn't specifically named him as Sheamus, I wouldn't have realized it was him.

Watching heels get Brogue Kicked after ignoring the 5 second counts at the ropes would be glorious.

Yeah we need one of these refs. No ref stands out, they're just there. Even after watching a few NJPW matches I instantly know who Red Shoes is, he's a character in the programming. We need at least 1 ref as that.

I would love this if Sheamus was like a steady guest referee. Like he transitions slowly, doing matches here and there, but he gets good real fast, and is known for not taking any shit from either side.
Then during a heated feud, somebody could get to pick the stipulations for their match, and the wrestler picks a Street Fight Falls Count Anywhere match. The heel can smile, realizing he can do whatever he wants, but then they finish with, " And I want Sheamus as our referee." causing the heel to get upset, since he knows that Sheamus will call it right down the middle and if they put their hands on the ref, they're catching an ass whooping.
