The FA wanted to host a Euro 2020 warm-up game at Anfield next summer. They said that The Sun journalists would have to be allowed in the ground to cover the game. Liverpool said no thanks. Those tabloid dipshits? Hell nah. Liverpool is right to stand their ground. Meantime, it's now known that MLS is going to expand into Charlotte, North Carolina. The issue I have with that is while there is a market that can grow there, it's not as if there is interest in soccer. The Charlotte Independence had the worst attendance for a non reserve team in the USL Championship this past season, and soccer is looked at as a curiosity (or, worse, a freak show) between them and the Charlotte Eagles, whom have been around since 1991 and operate with a religious perspective, more than a way of life. Up the interstate in Raleigh, North Carolina FC has a bigger following and more community investment since the mid-2000s when the team was the Carolina Railhawks. Ultimately, this is proof that MLS just wants that expansion money to offset any losses, and this manifest destiny the league is undergoing is becoming a house of cards. They’re already banned from Anfield and Goodison when it comes to club games.

Given the history between the City of Liverpool and that particular tabloid, I'm staggered the FA even made the proposal to begin with. I hope the FA ask Goodison to host the game and they get the same response from Everton.

Considering that rag is also banned by Everton, I suspect the FA will likely avoid a second embarrassment and switch to one of the Manchester venues , if they're determined to have the fixture played in that part of the country.

Even though the player who caused Everton to ban The Sun is now gone, they’re still keeping the ban. It actually makes me proud. Yes, there is a fierce rivalry between red and blue but when it comes to Hillsborough, Everton have always stood by Liverpool and known the truth.

It's my hope that one day the majority of clubs stand with Liverpool. The Sun has always been a disgusting rag, and the outright lies and bile published post-Hillsborough warrant their ostracisation from football press rooms.

Families in Liverpool are often divided between red and blue, so it's likely that many Everton fans also had their loved ones smeared by the Scum when they lied about the Hillsborough victims.

Me and a friend of mine were laughing when all the pundits were saying Liverpool had the title won after 8 games or whatever it was. Il wait till after Xmas & New Years but it’s looking like it might be.
I’m sure Liverpool fans won’t believe it till it’s true though and their lack of title wins in the last 30 years means they have no recent track record of title wins but they would have to really be terrible to screw this up now.

I won't be taking anything for granted until it is mathematically impossible for us to be overtaken. We will take a giant step towards the title if we get through this busy period of fixtures relatively unscathed. Boxing day at King Power Stadium looms large.

Boxing day at King Power Stadium looms large. As much as Liverpool deserve the title already, I would laugh my ass off if Brendan Rogers were to be the one to deny it. The way he's gotten Leicester playing I wouldn't rule out Champions League football for them next season, but as I posted before, I just don't see Liverpool dropping the points.

Former Derby manager Jim Smith has passed away aged 79. The Bald Eagle was quite the character, and his Derby team were fantastic Premier League underdogs.

I can see a lot of big clubs making enquiries about Haaland after his form for Salzburg this season with 28 goals in 22 games. Salzburg’s attack is very impressive, unfortunately they tend to concede nearly as many as they score.

Such diversity in that last 16.
That’s a joke btw only 5 countries are represented.
