Harry Kane out until April Things could get ugly for Spurs. Also throws a big spanner in England's Euro 2020 plans.

Another ridiculous VAR decision denies West Ham a last minute equaliser at Sheffield United. How Declan Rice was supposed to get his hand out the way I don’t know.

The VAR decision was correct. It's the new updated Handball law that's wrong. You shouldn't be penalised for accidental handball in the build up to a goal when it wouldn't be given as a penalty if a defender did it in their own box. They should just make it that is it hits your hand/arm whether on purpose or by accident then it's a foul. This might mean more penalties are given when a ball is kicked at an arm from a couple of yards away but at least it would be consistent.

That 9-0 really woke Southampton up. They've improved since then.

Have to say what a job Hassenhuttl has done at Southampton since the 9-0 defeat to home to Leicester. Only 2 months later and they go and win 2-1 away to the same team. He & Saints looked like relegation certs after that defeat but have really turned it around.
And Danny Ings must be close to an England call up with his form recently.

Really happy for Danny Ings. He was so unlucky with injuries at Liverpool and by the time he came back fully fit, he was never going to replace the front three

Here come the conspiracy theory nut jobs again about how it’s “LiVARpool” and showing a still image of Robertson catching another player on the shin. Conveniently neglecting to show the two seconds before where Robertson wins the ball and the Spurs player comes in afterwards. I’m not denying that Liverpool haven’t had some VAR decisions go their way but people seem to forget that Firmino had a goal disallowed because his armpit was offside. Or in the World Club final where in the last seconds of the match Mane was fouled and given a penalty. Only for the Referee to overturn it completely and give a goal kick. (The penalty was correctly changed as it was outside the box but it was still a foul).

I think the 6-0 defeat to Man City in last seasons F.A Cup final knocked the confidence of this Watford team and they are just now getting it back. They were always better than the position they’ve been in most of the season.
Shame to see Bournemouth in this position now and I really hope Howe doesn’t get sacked after all the great work he has done but I could see him walking away.
Dean Smith at Villa though could be in trouble as I doubt the owners want to go back to the Championship after all the money that was spent in the summer.

It's the same thing with every successful team, because they're doing well, people pick up more on the decisions going their way. How long were there jokes/rumours about Man United buying refs etc. around.

Liverpool have obliterated the league this season. Anyone claiming it's because of VAR is just desperate.

It's the same thing with every successful team, because they're doing well, people pick up more on the decisions going their way. How long were there jokes/rumours about Man United buying refs etc. around. The invention of the term "Fergie Time". Although “Fergie Time” is easy to say was made up, the BBC did a study a few years ago of every season in the Premier League era and the findings did prove that there WAS more added time in Manchester United games, particularly when they were losing. Of course, that study doesn’t mean I’m suggesting that it was a conspiracy for United to win because it obviously wasn’t. But given United’s reputation for getting late goals, there was the tiniest bit of fuel for the fire. The fact that they were by some distance the best team in the country at the time has a little bit more to do with it though. Same thing as now. Yes, Liverpool seem to have had some VAR luck but I don’t think it has made any difference to the league standings. Like for example, the Wolves goal that was disallowed the other week. It was in the first half. So it didn’t mean that one decision cost Wolves a point or gave Liverpool three points instead of one. Had it been right at the end of the game, then it could be argued but it wasn’t so is irrelevant.

Wolves could have been a threat if they had decided to pass the ball forward from time to time.
