Match was everything I could have asked for. It mostly broke out of Brock's mold, had him beaten clean after OVER FIVE YEARS of build to it, Seth looked great doing it, well done all around.

...So why have Lesnar even win the belt back to begin with? I can agree with that. You absolutely didn’t need the briefcase involved for this whole thing. Have Brock come out and challenge Rollins, goes the exact same way.

This match did so much more for Rollins than the Mania match did. Showed great fire, there were no shennanigans, they had an actual match. Seth looks like a major star now.

WWE has Seth look like an idiot chump going into the match, during the match and now we'e supposed to think hes a legit champion? God, he's the worst. Rollins didn't look like an idiot chump in that match at all. Actually throughout the match it was about him outsmarting and out-wrestling Lesnar. They made Rollins very smart in this match. Why are you saying he was an idiot in the match? Exactly this. Seth had Brock’s shit scouted. He flipped out of multiple Germans, he got out of the F5, he got Brock into the post at least twice, and he avoided the announce table spot and instead put Brock through it. Seth was prepared for Brock and looked like an ace out there.

The road to get there wasn't smooth, but the match was really well done.

They wanted to do a real match between the two since mania was overshadowed by Becky/Kofimania ect and truly put Rollins over as top dog. I think the Brock MITB scenario ended up just fine But they could have just done that without any of the MITB shit. Lesnar just has to be like: “dude, you kicked me in the dick!” Then Seth goes: “‘Kay, let’s settle this, bro.” BOOM! SummerSlam. I think they wanted to give viewers a bit of uncertainty having fans worried that Brock will carry this to mania again. I think Brock winning MiTB and only holding the title for a month, then losing clean finally was a great idea

Why even have him win the briefcase Two years in a row they have wasted it with Braun and now Brock Three, year before that was Corbin. Right. He lost the case and then proceeded to get jobbed by Cena at Summerslam Wait, we might have 4 years in a row cause didn't Sheamus win before that?

I'd dig it if Rollins was like even vaguely a good champion before. Downgrading for the sake of "anyone but Lesnar" is just lame and boring when there's a whole roster of guys that could have sick main event runs if given the chance.
Also, considering Lesnar's more recent matches, world title matches are about to get waaaaay less interesting without him.

It made no sense to have him get totally crushed by Brock in the build for this match if he was gonna win it. I get that someone has to beat Brock by why make Seth look like a total idiot for weeks and then beat Brock clean? I don’t get it. The whole 'get beat up during the build and win clean in the actual match' was basically the MO of Hulk Hogan and John Cena for a large part of their careers. It was always to put doubt in the minds of people as to whether or not the 'underdog' babyface could overcome the odds and pull out a win. Only difference between the three is that it wouldn't be a huge stretch to still consider Seth an underdog when going up against Lesnar, unlike Cena who was still guaranteed to win even when he was fighting with a ruptured spleen or whatever shit they came up with to make him seem vulnerable.

A story that meta has no meaning since any interest is about overcoming the booking team and not the universe narrative. This is the exact reason so many fans are tuning out.

I thought it was a helluva match, and I’m glad Seth won. I really hope they have a solid follow-up lined up.

So why couldn't Lesnar have done a clean job for Finn, or Bryan, or Roman, or literally anyone other than the emo bootlicker?
